Arizona Immigration Bill

RE: Arizona Immigration Bill
@ Minimalist. I like the pic. xD

But technically speaking.... Wasn't Jesus olive skinned? Dx Fair? Or is that just my indoctrination coming back to haunt me? X_____________X

@ thread topic

I think racial profiling is wrong, as well. But Arizona is trying to buckle down on illegal smuggling, which is totally understandable. I'm guessing my conclusion is made mostly out of ignorance. But I don't see what the problem is. Why come here illegally? Why worry about the bill if you're not illegal? Why give illegal immigrants a free pass from the law when normal American citizens are still held by it? It seems to me that most of the arguments against the bill comes from hypocrisy. D:

Please correct me if I'm wrong and elaborate so I may further understand my ignorance.

Let's try it this way, Kawaii. There are plenty of actual American citizens, born here or naturalized, who still speak Spanish, live in the barrio, or play loud latin music from their car radios. There is nothing in this "law" to stop some bully cop ( with apologies to Dotard who thinks cops are god-like apparently) from hassling them.

From Sec 8 (B) of the law.

Quote:B. FOR ANY LAWFUL CONTACT MADE BY A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIAL OR AGENCY
21 OF THIS STATE OR A COUNTY, CITY, TOWN OR OTHER POLITICAL SUBDIVISION OF THIS
22 STATE WHERE REASONABLE SUSPICION EXISTS THAT THE PERSON IS AN ALIEN WHO IS
23 UNLAWFULLY PRESENT IN THE UNITED STATES,

This is the basis of our nazi sheriff's "crime suppression sweeps" where he deploys his deputies to minority areas, spots someone with a broken tail light or failing to signal a turn ( no one in Arizona uses turn signals...must be a religious thing!) and then arrests them for being illegal...or holds them until they can prove that they are citizens or legal immigrants. "We're not racial profiling" shrieks Gauleiter Joe Arpaio.... "we just look closer at brown people" The man is totally full of shit.

You can bet your ass that white Canadians ( and there are a shitload down here....the weather is a lot better than Edmonton) aren't going to lose a moment's sleep over this law. Anyone who cannot see its intent is either blind or lying to themselves or...most likely....approves of harassing Mexicans.

Bill Maher discussed the issue last night on Real Time. The relevant section begins at the 2:25 mark

I still agree with Kawaii: "Arizona is trying to buckle down on illegal smuggling, which is totally understandable." Why do you think the law approves hassling or molesting people? I don't think cops are perfect but surely there are laws that limit the methods cops may pursue the law (e.i. laws against hassling), unless your definition of hassling is asking for a driver's license, or proof of SSN or passport.

So?

Quote:( with apologies to Dotard who thinks cops are god-like apparently)

Fuck you. I never said nor alluded to such a thing.

Quote:From Sec 8 (B) of the law.

From some other Section of the law.

B. FOR ANY LAWFUL CONTACT MADE BY A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIAL OR AGENCY
21 OF THIS STATE OR A COUNTY, CITY, TOWN OR OTHER POLITICAL SUBDIVISION OF THIS
22 STATE WHERE REASONABLE SUSPICION EXISTS THAT THE PERSON IS under the influence of drugs.

From some other section of the law.

B. FOR ANY LAWFUL CONTACT MADE BY A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIAL OR AGENCY
21 OF THIS STATE OR A COUNTY, CITY, TOWN OR OTHER POLITICAL SUBDIVISION OF THIS
22 STATE WHERE REASONABLE SUSPICION EXISTS THAT THE PERSON has committed or is about to commit an unlawful act.

and probably from another section of the law.

B. FOR ANY LAWFUL CONTACT MADE BY A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIAL OR AGENCY
21 OF THIS STATE OR A COUNTY, CITY, TOWN OR OTHER POLITICAL SUBDIVISION OF THIS
22 STATE WHERE REASONABLE SUSPICION EXISTS THAT THE PERSON IS a wanted criminal.

So?

Oh whoopie poo, this is the basis of most sheriff's "crime suppression sweeps" where they deploy their deputies to high crime rate areas, spot someone with a broken tail light or failing to signal a turn and then arrests them for possessing a bag of pot...or holds them until they can prove that they are who they claim to be in the case of no identity. "We're not racial profiling" said Gauleiter Joe Arpaio....and I agree with him. If the fuckers who had no ID after getting pulled by the cops was fucking white he would be detained until ID could be made. If he was a damn illegal German he'd answer for that, they are doing the job of LAW ENFORCEMENT and nothing more.

Quote:The man is totally full of shit

Lesser than the man in your mirror I would say.

Quote:You can bet your ass that white Canadians ( and there are a shitload down here....the weather is a lot better than Edmonton) aren't going to lose a moment's sleep over this law.

Illegal white Canadians will.

Quote: Anyone who cannot see its intent is either blind or lying to themselves or...most likely....approves of harassing Mexicans.

Yes. I would agree you are either blind or lying to yourself. The intent is LAW ENFORCEMENT. It's not about harassing Mexicans. You really think an American State can pass a law designed for nothing but harassing or hassling an ethnic group? This is not 1920's Germany man. What's next? The illuminati and top secret world order organizations plotted this to rid the world of Mexicans? It's a conspiracy by "The Man" (trademarked) to keep the brown down? That's how you are coming across.

So fucking what they would stop Jesus for a busted turn signal and detain him because he has not a valid I.D.

Is he God? You accused me of hold cops in a God like status for supporting their right to do their job so I'm assuming you hold Bill Maher, or others that agree with you, in the same God like status.

RE: Arizona Immigration Bill
I can see this is a heated topic. O.O

Both sides, so far, have good points, though.

I believe the intent of the law is to stop illegal smuggling. Are they choosing the best alternative? Probably not. But if it gets results I don't really care. As I explained to Adrian, if I were living in a foreign country(like America) with people who had darker skin (I say that because I'm super pale), and people with my color skin from my original country were smuggling into it, I'd be totally compliant and understanding of their suspicions and see it only as precautionary and to keep the country under control. Not only that, but I'd keep my papers on me all the time.

So far, the only people I can see this affecting are:

1. People who are illegal immigrants
2. People who don't want to carry their papers around all the time
3. People who have illegal immigrants as relatives.

Other than that the only hassle I see is irritation at being asked for papers. :/

Of course racial profiling is wrong. I don't like it when people are judged by their skin color or what they wear. And I'm not for this bill, I'm just not against it either. Dx

RE: Arizona Immigration Bill
That's your argument? That's it?!

Because some fucking reporter had to say "including a mexican" in a shot of some police brutality you think that supports your argument that cops harrass minorities?

If that dude was white you think he wouldn't have gotten kicked in the head? You think that was a white cop who said "I'll beat the mexican out of you"?

You have failed in presenting sufficient evidence to support your contention white cops intentionally hassle or harrass minorities without just cause.

Now admit defeat or a thousand fleas shall infest thou hindparts.
