To change the subject slightly. It was on the news not that long ago about a blind woman in a restaurant with her seeing eye dog. She was basically forced to leave. They cited health laws.
The shop owner was not fined. It is a fine line indeed.

How did they get away with that?! It's federally illegal to turn someone away with a service animal. Admittedly the owner can ask that an "unruly" *rolls eyes* animal be tied outside. But they would have assist if that happens.

I think you're supposed to make an exception for seeing-eye animals. I'm surprised they weren't fined.

It's unlawful here, yes. I believe ignoramus doesn't hail from here though.

I'll try to find the news article when I get home.
Maybe Beccs might remember more details.
From memory, it was the patrons that demanded she leave and the owner didn't want to upset the mob!
Yes, we can be self righteous heathens here down under!

Do you want to know what drives me up the wall? Sometimes, I will observe a parent ignoring that their child calling them over and over and over. "Mommy, mommy, mommy...." The child is usually right next to the parent. I don't understand why the parent doesn't address their child. They could at least say, "Not now. Mommy(or daddy) will talk to you in a moment." Maybe it is because I have children but I can't ignore a child calling for its mother so it is irritates me. I always want to scream at the parent, "ANSWER YOUR CHILD!"
I think that a lot of people have felt like Brian in this Family Guy clip.

Humans should not be allowed into restaurants until they're mature enough to sit the fuck down, shut the fuck up, and eat their fucking food. For me, that was how I always ate (at least that's what they tell me). For some people, it's a skill they never learn.
Verbatim from the mouth of Jesus (retranslated from a retranslation of a copy of a copy):
"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you too will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. How can you see your brother's head up his ass when your own vision is darkened by your head being even further up your ass? How can you say to your brother, 'Get your head out of your ass,' when all the time your head is up your own ass? You hypocrite! First take your head out of your own ass, and then you will see clearly who has his head up his ass and who doesn't." Matthew 7:1-5 (also Luke 6: 41-42)

That's crazy, I was on a security guard induction 2 days ago where they were talking about laws and I remember them saying a shop can get into trouble for not allowing guide dogs into its building, I don't know about restaurants though.
Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
Impersonation is treason.

Sorry guys, I remembered it wrong. Yes, the patrons were disgusted, but at the shop representative, not the man with his dog.

Didn't pick an option because "Depends on the kid" wasn't there.
It's been said before but I don't mind repeating it;
If there's a playground or a drive-through then you've been warned, but if it's a sit down restaurant then I think it's a given that you shouldn't bring your children unless they can behave.
