So brain-dead people can donate organs, but brainless (is that a word?) people can't?! I don't think I get it, I mean it's just tissue. There's no brain, not a conscious person so I'm not quite sure what the problem is here?

There are so few live births with anencephaly in any given year that it hardly matters.  We have bigger fish to fry.

I still think it would be useful for organ harvesting and cloning.

These are state laws.  All it would take is one bunch of assholes - let's make up a name... the catholic fucking church... to start this 'sanctity of life' bullshit and then you'd have a battle in each state and if they lose eventually they would appeal to the federal courts on some pretext or other.  And then one, or all, of the 17 shitheads running for the GOP nomination would decide that he likes people without brains - they are potential republicunt voters.

How on earth would they even try to defend this one? I mean you at least see some of the dummy logic on fetuses if you squint and stand on your head. But c'mon! The reason I thought it was a good idea was so wouldn't have to hear them whine about life! No brain, no consciousness, no life.
