There are times... when I feel like I just need to smoke so bad.

The other day when I was driving it occurred to me to check the ashtray in my truck. It was clean and empty except for a partially smoked Camel. No idea how long it had been there. In the past, I probably would have been tempted to fire that bad boy up.

I tossed it in the garbage. Yay, me.

Yeah, that's the truth. I quit back around 1996? for a couple of years. How the fuck did I blow that?

More recently, I quit in 2013 after a very serious illness. Hadn't had a cigarette for something like three weeks (though I was sonsick for ten days of it you couldn't have paid me to smoke, and I was unconscious for another 5 days), and convinced myself I could have a drag here and there if I wanted. Yeah, that worked out.

It ain't easy.

It's not exactly a competition with me, nor do I see Christians as you seem to think we portray them - at least not in ideologically unrelated matters like this . Yeah, I know, it's tongue in cheek, but still.

 Was just trying to encourage you to quit with a little tongue and cheek, quitting is a competition, you're competing for your life against an enemy that can be defeated, it's a gift worth giving yourself.

Actually no one has quit until they never pick one up again. Temporary stoppages aren't considered quitting.

 Keep up the good work and look around for those temptations and get rid of them, remember you're giving yourself a great and worth gift.
