You know, it has much to do with what I despise most in real life. Ignorant arrogance. I can deal with stupid, no problem and no hard feelings. But if someone stays willfully ignorant and at the same time assumes to ride the high horse, it gets to me.

I'm there with you abaris.  I'm baffled to the strict convictions and rigid closed mindedness I've found with some.  I have my beliefs and I hold firm to them and I give reasons why and I listen to counter perspectives because I've found that increases my knowledge and understanding instead of hindering it.  But to stoop to insults just shows your logical defense methods are extremely lax.  Reminds me of the old saying, "when you fling mud at others, not only do your hands get dirty but you lose a lot of ground as well."

You usually don't get that mindset where I am living. Most people, who still are believers, are mainstream catholic or protestant. And most of all, noone goes round rubbing their faith or it's absence into everyone's faces. It may sound odd, but I don't even know if my brother and his family are religious. We just never talk about it.

If atheism were not a religion, it would be just as open minded to the existence of an eternal god as it is open to the idea of an eternal universe.  Atheism accepts one faith that is not observable (eternal universe) and rejects another faith that is not observable (eternal god).  How does it feel to talk so negatively about religious beliefs but spend so many hours of your life spewing your gospel of choice?  Now, who is the idiot?  Damn son, you just got served.

If atheism were a religion, humpty-dumptyism would be yours. No point in arguing with someone who makes up their own meaning for words and insiists everyone around them use them the same way.

Could be the so-called prophesies are just random events that happen all the time before and after Jesus Predicted them. Like Jesus predicted the fall of Jerusalem. This happened many times before and it didn't take divine revelation for Jesus to look around at all the Romans and predict it would happen again. Plus the gospels were written about ten years after it happened. What else is going to happen?

Like the only nation to be re-established after two thousand years, this has only happened once and most of the world agreed to it, and that same nation becoming the power house of the Middle East in only a few years. Does this happen happen all the time. What's left not much, mostly prophecies about Israel and the tribulation. Of coarse the one Christians look forward to the most, the return of our glorious Savior, Jesus Christ.

Could be a variety of reasons. Maybe bacterial contamination. Maybe radiation in the geology in which the reserve is found. The C14 levels range from close to 1% (like it was deposited yesterday) down to expected levels.

And you call this bloodbath fulfillment of prophecy? I guess after 2,000 years those Jewish proselytes got tired of waiting for divine intervention and created their own fulfillment. It doesn't take a miracle to kill people but it does take a god to make people so bloodthirsty.
