What the bible says Hell is like
RE: What the bible says Hell is like
R'Amen.  FSM Grin
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost

I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

Good news, Neimenovic!

I made this torture chamber in my basement and I was going to put you in it because I think you're a bad person.

But instead, I decided to relent and torture my son, in your place. For a couple of days, anyway. It was going to be permanent for you.

Since my son got tortured in your place, he saved you from my basement torture chamber!

You still deserve torture, but if you just act like my son wants you to act, and I want you to act, I won't have to send you to the torture chamber. Of course, if you choose not to love my son, think nice things aloud about me, and at least try your best to obey my commands, then I'm still gonna have to torture you. It's justice for what a horrible person you are. You're just like everyone else on earth. Horrible! So don't get tortured, let me give you the free gift of avoiding my torture chamber, for the low low cost of obedience.

Aren't I great?

What do you mean you don't understand why you owe me anything in the first place? Do you WANT to go to the torture chamber?

Don't you know that I already tortured my son on your behalf?

How do you know I tortured my son for you? Well, I wrote it all down, of course! Well... I didn't... but someone did!

What do you mean you think I sound like a psychopath? Yeah, you're going in the basement RIGHT NOW for not believing I tortured my son for your wrongdoing that you didn't know about until I just told you, mister!!

What is your stance? you deny God exists entirely or you just don't want to be saved because you hate God

An unfortunate abuse of what must be immense power.  Is there an option to have it charged back to my account?  I'm uncomfortable with stringing up the better man to save my own hide, you?
because you have pride you don't want to be saved
you don't think anything is wrong with you

You're big on telling people what they think and believe, but not so much on actually backing up those assertions. Are you surprised that nobody is taking you seriously?

See, you might actually have a valid point; you might indeed have a vital message that we nonbelievers could benefit from hearing. However it's getting drowned out by the white noise of your own condescension and arrogance. Get over yourself, turn down the 'tude, and maybe - just maybe - we can have a dialogue. Until then, all we see is a petulant little child stamping its foot.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

These quotes seriously need clearing up. When I used to be a mod I was regularly dealing with that messy shit lol.

I don't hate God. I hate the being you describe as God.

If I thought for a moment there was a god, and that this god had the characteristics you describe in your Wholly Babble, then yes, I would hate this being.

But I hate God exactly as much as you hate Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy and Smaug the Magnificent and Lord Voldemort and Darth Vader and Sauron.

(Previous, struck-out examples replaced with actual badguys who are more appropriate parallels to Genocidal Jehovah.)

Yeah, I used to do nothing else. As I spend so much online time on the mobile, it just got too much of a pain in the arse.

There you go again, trying to tell sinnerdaniel94 what you think.

That's his job, damn it!

I'm often amazed at how spectacularly (and yet with such confidence!!) the Christians manage, almost literally every day on here, to completely fuck up when telling me what I believe. Or what they think I do.

But that's not the amazing part. It's that after I tell them what I actually do think, they just keep right on saying I believe something else.

Their fictional explanations of what you (or any of us) believe and why we believe/disbelieve as we do are designed to insulate them from having to think about our objections. If it's "pride" or a desire to "dwell in our sin" or simple rebellion against the light, then they can lean against their Bible and say, "See, God called it!"

In the end, it's a kind of intellectual cowardice.
