Since the eternal blissful afterlife of no more suffering does not exist, then let us try to create an eternal blissful life through science in the future and resurrect suffering people such as me who have mostly missed out on life. I have every reason to think that this is possible. You are free to object to it. Therefore, post all your objections and we can then begin a discussion/debate on this. It is called:

It is where scientists all around the world work on the ultimate science project to create an eternal blissful life and to resurrect people to live it. If I were a scientist, then this would be my life's work. Other people might deem me crazy for working on what seems to be an absolutely absurd project.

However, I am not a scientist. I am a composer and composing is the dream that I have chosen to pursue. So this whole thing is just an idea of my own that we can discuss/debate here.

Have you honestly given my idea some serious in-depth thought?  Do not just dismiss it simply because it sounds absurd and like some fantasy from a cartoon.  No scientist would ever do that.  They would really give this some in-depth thought.

First, why I think it is not possible.

Your mind is some processes in your brain, or the result of some processes in your brain.  Your brain cannot be kept going forever, so there is zero chance of eternal life.  It may be possible to extend human life dramatically, but it cannot be made to last forever.

As for resurrecting people, once the brain deteriorates, there is no way to make it how it was before, as how it was before is not known.  If one had a magical scanner that could scan the exact state of every minute particle of a brain, and if one had a magical machine that could exactly arrange such a collection of particles, then it would be possible to recreate a brain at the moment of the scan.  (Of course, such a recreation would be a copy of the brain, not the original brain, so it still would not be the original person.)  But if no scan had been made of someone, then one would have no way of knowing how all of the particles should be arranged, and so even a magical machine that could arrange particles perfectly would not be enough to resurrect someone.

As for it not being desirable, the only way eternity would not be hell would be if one were high.  That is, an altered state of consciousness, not anything like most people's normal lives when they are not taking copious amounts of serious drugs.  Being in a drugged state for eternity does not seem to me to be any better than simply ceasing to exist.

So the upshot is, if you were a scientist who could do what you are proposing (which I do not think will ever be possible), I would want to be excluded from the project.  Not existing is not a bad thing at all.  Not existing is what you were doing in the year 1800, and nothing bad happened to you in the year 1800.

Me thinks that you have been in/to this forum previously, have gone away, and are now returning in a "resurrected" form. Congratulations Mozart/Ryuzaki.

Right now it's impossible, in future however, something similar might be possible. Our brain is pretty much a biological harddisk where all our data resides, and experiments are already on their way on how to read and retrieve that data. So I don't think it's too implausible to imagine a future where we can keep ourselves backed-up on physical mediums and restore that to a new body when needed. So resurrection could be possible in a way.

Instantaneously ascertaining the chemical elements (including isotopes) in a human brain, and their individual specific locations and orientations to each other, along with all the information on the probability clouds of all the electrons in that brain is a difficult engineering task.  Additionally, Heisenberg informs us measuring the location and velocity of an object precisely gets more and more difficult the smaller the item is.  And that means you need more and more energy to make the observation, and as the item gets smaller, that energy will have a greater and greater effect.

With out pulling out my calculator, I am going to ballpark estimate simultaneously measuring the positions and velocities of all the particles in a brain would take more energy than is released by a very larger nuclear bomb.

Whom ever you did this too would not survive the procedure, and the machinery doing the measuring would also be destroyed.  Curiously, Hawking assures us the information would not be destroyed, but it might be somewhat difficult to retrieve from the rapidly expanding fog of glowing atoms.
