if you are not saved, God will condemn you according to your sins; with varying levels of punishment.
if you are saved, you are passed from death unto life and you are pardoned completely.
Once you are saved, your works are rewarded accordingly.

Jesus is alive
no, rather he saves you from the punishment you rightfully deserve. He makes you a child of God, and you inherit the Kingdom of Heaven. You don't do anything because he did everything. Believe on Him and you will be saved.
