I'm amazed at how impressed I still am with the Doom engine. That was some cutting edge shit right there back in the day. It even looks like the controls stand up. I may have to find an emulator to go back to some of that stuff.

My favorite was FunHouse. That dummy head taunted you, so you had to try to land a ball in his mouth.



The Terminator 2 one was pretty cool, too.

Fucking hell yes how could I forget, that actually is equal to Doom, Heretic and HeXen for me in terms of awesomeness. Best Duke game ever made by far.

Although PERHAPS The Doom engine games have a slight edge for me... but TBH these days they should all be number 3 on the list after Age 2 and Age 1... I enjoy them even more than I used to, and then Duke3d should be number 3.

So a revision of list.

1. Age of Empires 2.
2. Age of Empires 1.
3. Doom, Doom 2, Heretic and HeXen.
4. Duke3d.
5. Starcraft.

Honorable mention: Diablo 2 and 3.

I played Age 2 + the expansion for 6 years online every day.

In fact I'm just gonna stop right there rather than quote some more games. Age2 is just so good, I love that game so so much, it was beyond a game it was a fucking lifestyle for me. All my friends played that game.

Sands of time was too much puzzle and too less action for me :9
Warrior within on the other hand had a perfect balance of puzzle and story and awesome graphics and game mechanics
