It doesn't surprise me... what offends me more is the title of this thread, even as an American. It so perfectly illustrates our collective lack of awareness that there are other countries in existence.
OP, there are people from all over the world who use this site; the founder is a Brit. When you say "this country" without specifying which one, you feed into stereotypes people have against Usians. Please don't do that.

Haha, that's a pretty good point but it happens allllll fucking over the internet. I'm used to it on here now that when someone says "This country/our country ect" I can usually just translate it to America without even thinking even though I'm from the UK.
