Rape is a touchy subject and I have witnessed first hand men get accused of rape, then have their accuser recant their accusation. It's a very difficult legal dilemma, unless there's physical evidence. I don't believe that there is a "rape culture", or a society accepting of rape. Who thinks rape is acceptable? That article is just an anecdote.

Not saying that doesn't happen, of course it does.

Again, the worst of the rape culture is blaming the victim.  And that doesn't only happen to women.  People have blamed the children who have been raped by priests.  Some male victims of rape are blamed for being weak or, far worse, mocked by being called "fags".

And no, that story wasn't anecdotal.  If it was the guy would not have been convicted.

Tell me, was a young girl asking to be raped and molested by a man for a decade?  Does she deserve the mocking of the community?  If you're answer to either of those questions is "yes", then you're as sick as the guy who did the crime and his supporters.

However if you purposely wear revealing clothes, you are increasing the chance of it. I'm not saying that's the way it should be, but the way it is.

I think people who purposely wear the most revealing clothes, though, and then chastise men who take notice, is absolutely distgusting.

You should Google "No means yes, yes means anal".

Envision an outdoor sporting event in the middle of summer, let's say temperature above 95F. The fattest, hairiest, nastiest person with five appendages has no problem pealing down to near nudity in an attempt to cool off, but a four appendage person does the same and people will lose their shit for various reasons. You suggest that you don't think that's "the way it should be, but the way it is". It's precisely 'the way it is' that feminism attempts to change.

No, they're just psychopaths who don't have empathy. They don't care whether or not rape is wrong and I see absolutely no one who thinks that rape is acceptable.

Actually, there are whole websites where males get together and bitch about women and think they have the right to go out and rape women.

Is it all just empty talk?  Perhaps.  But there is evidence that at least one school shooter in the US who targeted girls and what these losers refer to as "alphas" shared this same mentality.

They're out there and it happens.

And Evie, that comment of yours I skipped, I was literally walking out the door to go to a guitar lesson. Sorry, I couldn't even find the comment I skipped over, to go back and try to find it again.

Idk, at this point I feel like everyone in this thread has a lot of very moral perspectives, much unlike what I've seen from feminism before. Sorry about my tone in the thread earlier, The stuff you all seem concerned about seems good.

I'm honestly sorry I was so hostile to everyone in this thread, that's honestly how I was feeling though.

Um
I don't understand what you're saying
All i'm saying is that an attractive woman wearing hardly any clothes is much more likely to be targeted for rape because of the attention she is already drawing to herself.

That is the harsh reality. We are drawn to people who are.."pleasing" to look at.
Obviously a disabled person is less likely to be looked at in the way that a very attractive and naturally beautiful person is. There's really no way to change that, it's human nature, it's not the way it should be, everyone should be treated equal, but just because you are looking at the attractive person over the non-attractive person does not mean you are making a statement that she is not equal in comparison. You are simply preferring the outside appearance of someone over the other, we are all drawn toward different people, but a majority of the time, it's people who are "pleasing" to look at. It's not your human right to be seen equally to someone, everyone has different body structures, so yes, that's the way it is.

I tried really hard to not sound awkward while writing that, but I would like to not comment on this issue anymore Tongue.

It's not a reality though. I don't think rapists are like mm she's hot and has less clothes than the others so I'll take her.

Really? Then I guess handsome, scantily clad men must be getting raped left and right, by homosexuals/bisexuals...

Also - it's a wonder, that women keep getting raped in countries where they're legally forced to be covered head-to-toe at all times.
