A friend of mine received an email from someone who she did not know is a "Christian." My friend forwarded a "Cat In The Hat" email to this woman, and to myself, which I did not find the email to be offensive at all. This is the response she got from that woman:
Dear *****: I would appreciate it if you would not send me any more emails. What you may think is funny, I find it offensive and do not care to read it. You really do not know me, but I am a christian and am married to a Minister. We are elders at our church and carry other titles as well. I am serious about my walk with Jesus and I live for him all the way. I do not play with sin and I do not use profanity or appreciate it when others use it around me. I have mentioned to [your husband] that I did not like one of your previous emails and I thought that he would talk to you about it. I am very serious about this matter and I wish not to receive any more of your email. Thank you for your understanding.

My friend emailed me in disbelief. So, this is what I wrote back to my friend:
Hi ******,
I am sorry that this woman does not have a brain. It is unfortunate that she is a "Christian" (whatever that is).
It isn't anything you did, really. She used "Christianity" as an excuse to belittle you and to try to humiliate you. There is no doubt about it, her email to you was harsh. That does not mean it was accurate of reality. She lives a delusional life and suffers from psychosis. Really! I am not kidding. Christianity is nothing less than a severe mental disorder in which contact with reality is lost or highly distorted. Unfortunately, it is accepted throughout our society in the most heinous personal manner. Take a look at this conversation that I found on the internet as an example of what I am talking about:
Question:
"Why is the Bible filled with heinous atrocities committed by God and his followers?"
A "Christian" answered: "Because God loves us more than we can ever imagine. All of those heinous things that he ordered people to do in the bible are just ways of showing his love for us."
It is obvious that there is something severely mentally amiss in our society when these statements, like the one that this woman wrote to you, are believed as being legitimate, good, honorable, respectable and virtuous... when on the other hand, you actually shared something with her that IS, in reality, legitimate, good, honorable, respectable and virtuous!
I read the "Cat in the hat" email, too. It was funny! It was funny because it depicts reality. It does not depict sin. What "IS" sin, anyway? The heinous atrocities that are mentioned in the Bible, according to God, are not sin? Christianity and religion is anything but reality and only humans are capable of making it what it is, or isn't.
This "Christian" woman "walks with Jesus" daily... she says.
And you know what else she does?
She "listens" to a God telling her how to live her life and how to raise her children after that very same "God" had to drown his own children.
She is an idiot! For that reason alone you might want to delete her email. But, if not for those reasons I mentioned to you, at least delete her from your email on the basis that she sent you one of the most inconsistent grandiosity emails I have read in a long time. Her rhetoric was insincere and without regard for fact or truth. Just because SHE believes something doesn't make it fact. She is a half-wit.
Unfortunately, she not only gets away with spewing out her rhetoric, but she also gets support from others like her!
...and to suggest that you are a sinful person. If there was ever a separation between man and "God" it certainly is not because of "sin" that causes that separation. The separation between man and "God" is strictly because of common sense. That woman has none!
OK. My rant is over. I hope that helped!
At least I offered you some common sense through that woman's extravagant farce.
