But would you date an atheist?

I will be honest I would struggle with that.

Fair enough. Is it the lack of belief in a deity that would be the problem, or concern that the other person might be damned regardless of belief/disbelief in a god? To put a finer point on this, would you struggle with the idea of being in a relationship with a theist of an entirely different religion?

Don't worry, Cathy, it's not a deal breaker for me. We can still be together... Cuddle

I don't see a huge issue here in Au.
As long as she breaks it to me after the sex.

I married one. She's a little nuts but then aren't we all?
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

Not a problem in principle, but if I weren't married it would be quite the unusual xtian who would have any chance with me.

RE: Would you date a christian?
Pretty much everyone I've ever been with has been an atheist, an agnostic, or at least a non-Christian even though I've been Christian most of my life. There was, like, one exception to that, I think. Some of the girls I dated converted to Christianity while they were with me, but I'm pretty sure most if not all of them turned their backs on it sooner than I did. My first wife might be some kind of neo-pagan or something; she was pretty loopy.

Anyway, with that in consideration, if I were single I might date Christians. I have no reason to believe I couldn't get over somebody's faith being different from mine. I can't imagine it going taht well on a long-term basis, to be honest. I'm a pretty vocal, heart-on-my-sleeve sort of person, so a Christian who took her beliefs even a little seriously would probably be annoyed as shit by me.
Verbatim from the mouth of Jesus (retranslated from a retranslation of a copy of a copy):

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you too will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. How can you see your brother's head up his ass when your own vision is darkened by your head being even further up your ass? How can you say to your brother, 'Get your head out of your ass,' when all the time your head is up your own ass? You hypocrite! First take your head out of your own ass, and then you will see clearly who has his head up his ass and who doesn't." Matthew 7:1-5 (also Luke 6: 41-42)
