Was Hitler a Christian?

RE: Was Hitler a Christian?
^ But why not evangelization or zeal to save souls?

I suppose you could consider trying to free Russia of it's atheism that.

I do realize that while there were bad parts about it, the invasion of the USSR really brought a lot of faithful Christians to fight.

It really is hard to believe that Christians in the USSR would need to wait nearly 50 years to practice their religion freely! Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad

Why did he never make any move to convert non-Christians?

He did.

He murdered them.

He might have thrown in a bit of paganism, but with 36000 Christian sects, it wouldn't be the first time local folklore and traditions were mixed into Christianity.

But not only does the evidence point to Hitler being a Christian, he was a creationist.

“The most marvelous proof of the superiority of Man, which puts man ahead of the animals, is the fact that he understands that there must be a Creator. The fox remains always a fox, the goose remains a goose, and the tiger will retain the character of a tiger”

"For it was by the Will of God that men were made of a certain bodily shape, were given their natures and their faculties”

The "Origin of the Species" and every book on evolutionary biology was banned by Hitler. And his breeding program was based on the soldier breeding programs of ancient Sparta, which he was a big fan, not evolution.

That explains a lot, actually.

Murder is not conversion. He had an opprotunity to share the gospel and chose to scoff at it. It's unbelievable what he did really.. Dodgy Dodgy

He had the position many conservative Christians in the US have: "Kill them all and let god sort them out"

And, considering he was following Christian doctrine that had been used in Europe for centuries - persecute the Jews - it seems pretty damned clear he was a Christian.

There's also the fact that he banned the teaching of evolution.  Where else do we see that today?

Oh, I dunno. Killing people who disagree with your particular religious delusion has a long and noble tradition. As late as the 1990s, a whackjob I loved to hate - Ian Paisley, Sr, who (not coincidentally) shared many of Hitler's views about 'sub-humans' - preached that it wasn't a sin to kill Roman Catholics, as that would get them in front of God that much sooner and allow them to see the error of their ways.
