1) I loved that. Much more Luke-esque of her to learn it on the fly (I know Luke was trained for a second by Yoda, but that's a far cry from going through an entire academy), and to not have the stuffy Jedi etiquette always reminding her of how she's doing it wrong, a la Ep. I and II.

2) Kylo Ren was Bow Caster'd by Chewy. If you're not buying that she beat a trained Sith, you must really not like that he couldn't even kill Fin in a duel. Haha If we're knit picking, he should have been killed by Chewy's blaster.

3) Kylo was clearly nowhere near the level of a master.

Yes i totally forgot kylo was shot by the bowcaster, which if you saw han playing with it you could see what that thing did to a regular person.
He did critically wound finn, and would have killed him if not for the force grab of rey of the ESB lightsaber.

Kylo clearly was not a sith lord as the supreme commander order general red head to collect up kylo and bring him back to him so as to "Finish his training." He also seemed really unsure of himself because of all the older sith lord relics he collected.

the knights of ren are a very old old order of sith. His helmet is that of darth Reven of the KotOR his light saber is far more primitive which can be witnessed by the bending of light around the energy blade/It looks like it is on fire when compared to the laser like quality of the Anikin/ESB blue light saber, vader's helmet and consulting or trying to channel vader/the dark side through these 'things.' All harken back to how Nazi imperialist collected relics and encorperated "magic powers" of conquerors to ensure power/victory.. all of that REEKS of insecureity even if this guy is powerful. He is pulling and wearing the mask of power other who came before wore to as to gain the automatic respect those sith lords commanded.

Once this guys training is complete, i think rey will be in alot of trouble. plus that fits the starwars Empire will strike back formula.

They were very careful with all the trailers to show only Fin using a lightsabre and it wasn't until the movie that you saw that the Force sensitive is actually Rey.

Well in the books 'ben' is a skywalker as his twin sister is a skywalker via leigha. The movie seems to have taken a different path. As Han and Leigha both had contact with rey and did not acknoweledge her as a daughter/other twin. Plus the old orange lady said the light saber belonged to her father...

now unless Anikin was poking around as a force ghost that only leaves Luke.

Plus if you remember some of the trailers Luke is saying "the force is strong in my family. My father had it, I have it My sister has it and you have it... Which i guess could have been ben, but that still does not explain Rey who seems to be more of a force prodigy than Anikin

You know that's all i want.. to just be a random storm trooper who is seen on screen, maybe someone chewie rips his arm off or something.. But if the line is so long Daniel craig is only cast as a weak minded stormie then it does not look good for me.

The answer should be obvious: it's deliberate, and it is saying something.  Consider how Han Solo's death is a flip version of Darth Vader saving Luke.  Consider how Luke's self-exile somewhat mirrors that of Obi-wan.  The same bloodlines are going to play out their dance with new outcomes.

That could well be. A bit like Battlestar Galactica where they made a big thing about historical cycles repeating themselves. Or the Matrix. We'll have to wait until the next films to find out though. I did get the sense that this film was more intended to set up the trilogy.

I honestly don't know.

I just have a feeling about it.

I could be completely wrong, I just thought it was too obvious for her to be Luke's daughter, considering the lengths they went through to mislead people in the lead up to the movie release.

We knew that Daniel Craig was in it and were looking out for him. We spot him in two ways. I normally recognise his eyes (e.g. in the beginning of Spectre) and his panther like walk gives him away. My husband recognised him by how he turned his head.

I think she's one of Luke's students that escaped Kylo's slaughter of the padawans. She was dropped off at Jakku to be hidden away. That being said, she could still be Han and Leia's daughter; when they were talking to Maz she asks Han who she is, then we cut to her finding the saber and Maz shows up and knows a lot more about her. Han must have told her. Or it could be she's an unrelated student that Han knew about, or maybe he pieced it together after being with her for a while.
