Well, let's see - no, no and... uhm... no. (January 18, 2016 at 2:08 am)TrueChristian Wrote: Several great luminaries of the age found joy and goodness in being poor. That's nice - tell that to the ~800 million of people around the world currently starving, and the further billions barely scraping by, below the poverty line - with no "joy", or "goodness", you sanctimonious, condescending c*ck... The only good thing about being poor is that it might motivate you to try and stop being f*cking poor...

UGGGGGG,
It isn't poverty vs greed. It is about BALANCE in economic stability. There is plenty of room in society for different desires. But as it stands right now, there is too much greed and a growing plutocracy. Religion does enable poverty, but the economic right ignores it on par with religion, I don't value "fuck you I got mine" economics either.
Starting the game with a ship on land instead of a town center? Are you playing Noah waiting for the great flood or what?

Religions make a virtue of poverty. Christ came to the starving and desperate and convinced them that their suffering was somehow moral in itself, he didn't teach them how to change, how to grow, he only ever taught them that their toil would be rewarded, that their dead children were waiting for them at a special farm. He taught them complacency and submission.
