RE: It's Always Sunny - evolution versus Christianity

Eh, I'm a Christian. I accept evolution.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

At what point did Genesis stop being figurative and start being literal?
Jesus is like Pinocchio. He's the bastard son of a carpenter. And a liar. And he wishes he was real.

As far back as I can remember, in my Catholic grade school, we were taught evolution in science class, and we were taught the symbolic interpretation of Genesis in religion class. It is what is generally accepted.

It is now, as the Catholic church has enough smarts not to fight science on battles it can't possibly win.

What do you think constitutes a chin? All apes have the same skeleton, only the proportions differ.

Since it is demonstrably false that it always existed on Earth, where did it exist before that?

At what point in evolutionary history did 'souls' show up?

I believe I've answered that already...

By "reason" do you mean problem-solving ability?

If by "problem-solving" you mean logical, rational, and analytic thought, then yes.
