Kitan : I understand that at some point we developped our self-awareness. The brain is the only thing we know that named itself...
When you become self-aware, you understand at the same time what you are not because it's impossible to define an element without understanding it's environment. When we became self-aware the way we are now, the concepts of "whole", "universe",... appeared and the word "God" IMO was put on it because the "whole" is still a mystery.
Our ancestors were not depressed overintellectualizing stressed individuals... Their life was not miserable. They were happy and curious.

I understand that the concept of god is real. I just don't believe it maps to anything in reality. So trying to say other things in reality "are god" is rather arbitrary, since it isn't anything to begin with.
If it's a placeholder for, "Whatever caused our reality to exist, if it did have such a cause" then that's fine. It may be a placeholder for literally nothing, though.
I have no problem with abstract concepts that don't literally map to reality. They can be very useful, and are indeed essential. I just don't think "god" is one of those. I think it's a term so elastic that it's useless. I often ask theists to define it, and they rarely can. If they do, I get something different whoever I ask.

Which tends to prove God has indeed created everything, even if he's just a concept we made up

If Gawd is life, then any creature which is life, including me:-D is Gawd. That actually makes sense, almost, but alas there's never been any evidence whatsoever provided for a super GAIA, such as the idea put forth in the movie which featured strange, big and blue people on a distant planet. Being alien to Earth people, they were somehow better-tuned-in to the big force which drives life in the universe, because what isn't human is necessarily better - so says the weird Hippie assholes who wrote that movie, "Avatar".
Mr. Hanky loves you!

Yeah... unless no creation ever happened. Or the creation event was the fracturing from another reality or something.
But sure, if it makes you happy

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Anyone who states that god is life can be categorized as the same obsessed individual who claims that football is life.
