There are spoilers like crazy in here. I'm not even going to bother hiding them (well, yes I am). But seriously: spoilers. Spoilers spoilers spoilers spoilers. Abundant as rotting food in bangladesh.
I'm strongly appreciating the diversity of the pokemon I've come across in Black. Infact, I'm only missing a dragon and a steel out of the 29 I've caught so far (5th badge in), and I'm about to catch a steel (ferroseed). I could have gotten a steel from catching Drilbur in Wellspring cave and then evolving him, but I didn't know it was there at the time. No dragons until after this point though.
The difficulty is adequate enough to give me a challenge most of the time (then again, I'm not sticking Sawk in the front of my party and letting him double kick to victory. He is overpowered. Very. Use him if you want an easy game. Use him if you really like his design. Use him if you need a strong fighting type with some decent speed. Use him if you want to 6-0 teams that don't resist fighting. Use him if you are like me and can think of no better use for it than to kick ass.) The 6-0 is a mild exaggeration, because most of the trainers in the game up to where I am do not have six pokemon. He will still murder their entire team.

I wouldn't normally put Victini in my party for the first run (such pokemon distort the data), but I am still leveling it on the side and its there for now. Trying out Minccino and so far not impressed (though i am a fan of her very elegant design). Whirlipede, and he's cemented on the first run team. Musharna, thinking about replacing him (though he definitely puts out). Sawk (yes, the very one that nearly brought me the game-over screen), and he is a fucking monster. He is unreasonably strong... and he's fucking Timid for heaven's sake (minus attack, bonus speed). He deserves his nickname of Berserker (

). Finally, a Dewott I named Waltercorn. I wanted to name him waltercorny, but alas that was 11 characters I'm not so much impressed by him as I find him useful.
Had a Liepard in my team for a long time, and unsure if I want to put it back. Alternately, I want to try out Sandile, and given how good and badass it is: I'm likely to have it cement a place. Yamask serves some uses and I had him for a while... but not sure I'm willing to invest in him fully. Besides, I am about to get my Electric/Bug spider, so someone's got to go Oh, and my electric eel with levitate ^_^ This generation is doing a good job of keeping me juggling my team members ^_^

I've only caught 20 in total and seen 118, horrible I know.
My current team is Grass Snake, Ice Cream, Giant Fire Ape With The Eyebrows On Fire, Kung Fu Mouse, Swan and the horribly weak Gigalith. (Didn't alter team at all. )

I don't like starting the game with legendaries, therefore I shoved Victini in the daycare.
I'm still searching for a Munchlax and a Psychic/Electric to complete the team for Elite Four.
Munchlax is obtained in a trade with someone in Undella town in the summer. Means you won't see it till June if it is currently autumn in your game. And then it will be gone by august.
Sounds like a pain in the ass to me, you should make do without Snorlax .\

I use daycare so that my pokemon can have babies... only thing that stays in there for an extended time is ditto. Ditto is a fucking whore.
Good thing the game never introduced a checkpoint where you have to catch a certain amount of them to proceed.
Well yeah, Victini gained 20 levels in daycare and probably got really bad moves. I don't really like it though, the design of it just doesn't satisfy me. I also prefer ones that can evolve.
Ditto is and always will be the King/Queen of whores in Pokemon.

It did, however, introduce several rewards for catching them all, in addition to having a pokemon when you want it (for whatever reason)

http://serebii.net/pokedex-bw/494.shtml You'll need a few TMs to repair your daycare damage by now (it's probably missing a psychic STAB). Already down one heart scale for searing shot if you don't think flamethrower is good enough (lol?)

Fyi, it isn't banned from OU/Standard. Might change with V-Generate, but many doubt it. Calculating in STAB, the move has 270 base power. And can be used again. And again. Add a choice band and it is a move with 540 base power. Backed up by a 100 base stat. When that move comes out little fire pixie will be a monster. Remember: there is a huge difference between 'legendary' and 'uber' (banned from OU). Some fail to even make OU.
It has definitely secured itself a place in OU without V-Generate. By the way, lofty as 100 base stats may seem... without V-generate: this thing is a lightweight offensively in a ring that includes the likes of Salamence, Exadrill, Tyranitar, Machamp, Scizor, Breloom, (is Garchomp banned yet? My Victini is Docile and Quick Temepered.

Tis mildly interesting... though I'd rather have a database of every pokemon to choose from and modify the stats/movepool as I see fit (according to maximums-minimums of the species). I'm not in it to catch 'em all... i'm in it to competitively battle

I'd almost be willing to take your victini off your hands because of that nature (no bonuses/no losses)... but mine is Rash (+SpA -SpD), and flamethrower/psychic is workable for now
You just got trolled by hax How did you both paralyze it and freeze it anyway? 0.o Hell, how did you even manage to freeze it? 0.o Did you not have its hitpoints low enough? From experience... the difference between a pokemon at 1-5% hitpoints and 10-15% is the difference between 1-3 pokeballs and 5-15 :S
Stationary legendaries are one eighth the pain in the ass that is a roaming legendary
