The Black Watchmen - An ARG (has anyone tried one of these before?)

So, my husband is telling me I spend too much time playing Mafia here, but then he sends me a link today to this game called The Black Watchmen, it is an ARG.
The more I look into it, the more I'm wondering why in the 7 hells my husband sent me this link. It looks like it can easily take over your life, at least for a while.

He says he's kind of curious about how far this kind of game can go....and now that I'm looking at it, so am I. I remember watching a documentary on one of these groups when it started becoming a thing, and I was curious about it then, too.
Has anyone here every played an ARG, even just the email level? I think I'd be to cowardly to try the phone call level (Let alone the in person stuff ) levels, but I fell like I'd be missing the point of the whole gameif I don't, you know DO it.
So, has anyone done one or considered doing one? What did you think?
