Dumbest excuse not to vote for Trump.

The point is, politics is a game of makebelief. If you fail to keep up appearances, your behavior is noted. And that's what this woman in the OP probably meant. She noted that Trump didn't keep up appearances and came to the conclusion that's not the respectable guy.
That makes it even worse. You choose not to vote for someone because they refuse to play pretend with the other politicians?

It's refreshing to say that even though I live in South Georgia (red and Bible Belt) I don't think this is common practice anymore. Unfortunately I think it's partially because people don't really date before they move in together anymore. Maybe in that part of the country. It is the babble belt. I think selling the utopia of "forever" is a bullshit way of selling marriage. What makes a marriage work, or even just dating work long term is compatibility, good communication skills and planning. Selling one day and a short paragraph oath as magic cure doesn't insure anything long term. It is an impractical ceremony "just because" without all the other things I said. Marriage is sold unfortunately, just like impractical gas hog sports cars, sold on appeal to emotion. It is not for everyone and it should not be sold as such, the person in that relationship is the only person who should get to decide, and should also be willing to part company without bitterness if things don't work out. In reality people's feelings for each other do change, and that ceremonial oath often when people realize they don't want to be in it any longer, can cause partners to lie and have affairs, either out of not wanting to hurt the other's feelings, or out of spite. And it can cause bitter feelings even to the point of revenge, and that can get even worse when kids are involved. Marriage is far to easy to get into and far to hard to get out of. And not everyone wants to get married or have kids in any case. It is better to raise a kid to find their own comfort level and teach them good communication skills if or when they decide to have a relationship. Fear monger, demagogue, masking GOP trickle up bullshit pretending he is not one of them. Slurring a vet. Nope, here is a quote from a lady who I am sure is still voting GOP, but said this about Trump's walking in front of his wife getting out of a car.Put the woman out front so that she'll take the bullet. |
