So, inspired by the Prince thread, I thought I'd let everyone know that popular adult performer Meghan Wren, known by her stage name Amber Rayne died on the second of April 2016. She was 31.
Meghan was a cancer survivor, and despite building a friendship with fellow performer Bryan Matthew Sevilla (stage name James Deen) accused him of sexual assault/rape following similar accusations from other performers.
What's worth noting is the case of Bakky Visual Products (Japan). Like many American pornographers they "pushed the boundaries" of consent in their videos. From 2004 to 2007 they filmed and released 16 movies in which performers were gang-raped. Performers were then told that they had consented in their signed contracts. During the filming of the 17th film, one victim called the police, who interrupted the filming, arrested the pornographers, and subsequently pressed rape charges. Ultimately a number of prosecutions resulted, including the CEO who got 18 years. But perhaps of biggest concern of all is that some of the performers found guilty of participating in gang-rape were given suspended sentences. You can bet your ass they would not have been given a suspended sentence for a rape conviction occurring outside of a film set.
Similarly it seems the USA is indifferent to the suffering of people like Meghan who experienced sexual assaults by pornographers or male performers both on and off film sets. It should be noted that the Bakky videos were banned almost immediately, whereas videos containing alleged sexual assaults in the USA have not been banned. It'd be nice to see companies that used Sevilla (Kink for example) voluntarily withdraw videos he appears in. But, you can bet you ass that's not going to happen either.
It was also quite disheartening to see Sevilla posted a rather disrespectful tween shortly after the death of Wren. What an asshole.
