Actually if you have 8 hours in your work day, and you complete your work in 4 hours, you are saving time. Mathematically speaking; 8 - 4 = 4
Cute. That is the example of an illsion of being able to manipulate time.

I have about 18 hours in my day.
I have a set amount of work to do each day.
If I do that work quickly, I have lots of time to spend on other things.
If I do that work slowly, I have less time to spend on other things.
Where's the illusion?
Also, still waiting on the demonstration that control of time is logically impossible.

Think about your post in terms of how much energy your using and you will see the illusion.

Now you are equating time with energy, which is incorrect. Time is not energy. Perhaps time is not easily defined, but that does not mean we should define it as something that it is not. If time and energy were equal, when a person sits on their ass constantly, no time would go by or it would go by very slowly. That is not so. Therefore, I call bullshit . . . again.
Now, I realize that time may appear to pass slowly when we are inactive, but that is actually an illusion.

Examine the need for correction algorithms for atomic clocks in GPS satellites and you will see controlling time is no illusion.

I wonder if that is just controlling our measurment of the illusion? (just a thought)

I'm not claiming that finishing my work early gives some kind of magical extra time out of nowhere.
Energy is irrelevant. If you think that you can equate time and energy like that, you need to take some physics classes.
And even if you could compare the two, if you think that I'd expend the same amount of energy in both cases, you're mistaken. Imagine that my faourite leisure activity is karate. If I complete my work slowly, I spend all day sat at a desk. If I complete it quickly, I spend the remainder of the day doing karate. Do I expend the same amount of energy in both cases? Nope!
What you seem to be doing is misinterpreting the meaning of the phrase "to save time" in order to artificially create a paradox.

Energy expenditure is everything... sorry emporion but I am hearing shades of Permaculture here

I voted Jesus. Aint I a stinker?
Really though, none of these answers are viable to me. What is time, anyway? How does it work? By what goddamn standards are we measuring it and why are those standards applicable at all? Time is just far, far too complex for me to answer this question.

I never said time=energy. You are making an assumption in your mind about what I said which is different from the intended meaning. The illusion is this:
When you use your energy more wisely(manipulating it) you get more done in the same amount of time as before, but your also viewing it as saving time in getting the same amount of work done.
