It wasn't even half the country. It was half of the 72% who turned out to vote.
I have a suspicion that if the turnout was 100% the result would have been a win for remain.

Although I wanted out and I am glad we are out I think you are probably right ....
The betting odds where 2/1 to 3/1 against Brexit and most pollsters plus most leave/remain voters fully expected a remain vote ...
This will have lead to many remain voters staying at home out of false confidence while most leave voters would have been out to make their vote count ...

Will we see voters/non voters regret and have another vote?
I understand that leaving the EU is a 2 year process.
