European Islamic terrorist attacks

They are even in the polls right now.  His deluded followers are taking him seriously.

But at least we are getting somewhere.  Okay you want to invade Syria.  That's at least a definite plan although it ignores the fact that Syrian and Russian forces are squeezing ISIS in Syria and the US-backed coalition is squeezing them out of Iraq.  ISIS has no capability to go toe-to-toe with a modern army backed by air power.

In fact, there seems to be a pretty strong correlation between the beginning of ISIS' military reverses in Syria-Iraq and the increase in terror attacks in the west.  I doubt that there is any "command structure" directing these attacks.  More likely, some sympathizer does something and ISIS' PR Ministry adopts them into the fold...posthumously.  The reason these attacks are taking place in France is because there are muslims with a chip on their shoulders in France.

But at least you said what you wanted done.

I don't think it's about publicity. I think you've got this really wrong. Trump is 100% serious about his presidential campaign. You don't run for president just for the bants.

That is the truth. I remember an ex-police officer from Algeria (the Algerians are very proud people who aren't afraid to show their flag in France), and he once asked me (because we were talking about religion) where I came from, the sky? I replied "no, my parents created me", and he shut up. Same thing about LGBT. I am not LGBT but I support their cause. Again, another Algerian asked me about the same-sex law marriage in the UK. I said, it is not a problem for me. Then she brought my children into it. I replied with, "well, if one of my daughters wants to have a same-sex relationship, that is her business and I will support her in whatever she wants to do. Don't be fooled by the liberal-minded muslim people in France, since I think it is the contrary.

Timing is everything in life.  Just published from the Director of the F.B.I.

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/28/world/...ss&emc=rss

Quote:Eventual victory against the Islamic State could well lead to an uptick of terrorist attacks in the West, not a reduction in them, James B. Comey, the director of the F.B.I., said on Wednesday.

“At some point there is going to be a terrorist diaspora out of Syria like we’ve never seen before,” Mr. Comey said at a cybersecurity conference at Fordham University. “Not all of the Islamic State killers are going to die on the battlefield.”

Mr. Comey predicted that the military coalition would eventually succeed in crushing the Islamic State, but that “through the fingers of that crush are going to come hundreds of really dangerous people and they are going to flow primarily to Western Europe.” But some, he said, could well end up in the United States.

He's absolutely right about this, of course.

How do you weed out the crazies when they hide within a civilian population?

It was a good read. Did you ever watch Monty Pythons Flying Circus? If so, you might remember their skit for International Communism:

Nothing really came of it. However, there is a bit of truth with ISIS though. In that, if they can convince as many muslims as possible in the West to follow Islam to the letter, then we are in trouble. There are many 2nd, 3rd and even 4th generation muslims in Europe and I am sure that this will convince them even more to try and not only destabilise Europe or the USA, but to actually achieve their goal; to get Israel. Let us not kid ourselves, Israel is the ultimate prize and as long as we stay by her side, they won't move in. Anyway, time for some Basil Rathbone me thinks in Sherlock Holmes. "The House of Fear", sounds good. Have a great evening mini.

I loved Monty Python.  Still do.

Here's another interesting story from the Times.  This might help Europe but then they need the will to act on it.

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/28/world/...ss&emc=rss

Quote:The United States is poring over a vast trove of new intelligence about Islamic State fighters who have flowed into Syria and Iraq and some who then returned to their home countries, information that American officials say could help fight militants on the battlefield and prevent potential plotters from slipping into Europe.
American-backed Syrian Kurdish and Arab militias have seized more than 10,000 documents and 4.5 terabytes of digital data in recent weeks while fighting insurgents in Manbij in northern Syria, near the Turkish border, a major hub for Islamic State fighters entering and leaving Syria, American officials said.
An initial American review of the material offers new clues about “foreign fighters, the networks, where they’re from,” according to Brett McGurk, President Obama’s special envoy for combating the Islamic State. Other officials said the information included the fighters’ identities, countries of origin, routes into Syria and the illicit networks that recruited and ferried them to the region. Those details are being shared with allies to help stanch the flow of militants.

The problem with all this information is that they can do absolutely nothing about the foreign fighters should they return to their own country. It is just like the police, when they have a somebody in mind where the modus operandi fits perfectly, but unless this person does something, they are powerless to act. Again, from what I have heard, it takes at least 20 people to survey 1 potential terrorist in France who is on a particular list. The number of these people around France is around 1,000 perhaps more so, imagine the manpower; 20,000 more policemen.

Muslim men, women and children in Muslim countries are far more likely to be victims of terrorist attacks by ISIS, Al Qaida, etc. - not US or EU citizens.

If you live in the US or the EU, you are far more likely to die by a heart attack than by a terrorist attack.

Cardiovascular disease isn't as titillating or sexy to think about as dying in a terrorist attack, which might be why you don't see screaming headlines ginning up fear over chronic diseases.

Oh, I agree entirely with your opening phrase. This has a great deal to do with sectarian violence, just like when the protestant UK was a target for the Catholic IRA. Shi'a muslims can cry "Allahu Akbar", until the cow comes home but it will not make a blind bit of difference to a Sunnite or a wahabi. They will still be oppressed. A large number of people are always going on about Saudi Arabia and the wahabists, but they really are in a minority. What I would be worried about, would be the Sunnites who live in the Western World and how they can be radicalised by extremists.

Word on the grapevine from France, is that the Corsicans (National Liberation Front of Corsica) have let ISIS know that should anything happen to anyone in Corsica, then there will be revenge.
