What makes you think that?

Because you need a sample to compare our dna with, or else how would you determine what dna came from the serpent?
To determine paternity, you need a sample from the child AND the father.

So how would we ever confirm that we have "serpent" DNA at all?

We have plenty of samples. We have our own dna, and the dna of all other known primates. We also have the DNA of some extinct primates (some of which we find in our own dna) If the serpent was, as you contend, a separate species from human beings and not one of those other known primates....it shouldn't be too difficult to isolate an anomaly. Particularly one that codes for death...as you contend that it does. You've claimed that our hybridization brought death into the picture...so we only need to find the point at which our ancestors didn't die (which seems to have been..you know, never..what with all of our ancestors..even the un-hybridized ones, if they ever existed...being dead).
I can see that you think you've left yourself wiggle room, you really haven't. It's time to put up or shut up. Either your interpretation is correct, and we're serpent hybrids...or your interpretation is correct, and magic books narrative is demonstrably false.

By getting a sample from the serpent, and making a comparison... like I already stated.
Considering most people accept the more popular version of that story, don't hold your breath.

But you already said that it's impossible to get a sample from the serpent. So verifying it is impossible.

So you're claim is impossible to verify. If it's impossible to verify, why would we accept it.

As usual, a theist's preference for the unverifiable is palpable. But....as usual, theists aren;t very good at coming up with unfalsifiable things (it's not their fault, no one is). This idea that a hybridizing event in the history of modern homo sapiens sapiens caused us to become mortal creatures is not unverifiable, or unfalsifiable. Regardless of whether or not we could get a sample of "serpent dna" we can use our dna to find such an incredibly lethal anomaly and then make good inferences as to -this- being "serpent dna".
That it doesn't exist...that we have always been mortal, that all of our genetic ancestors are likewise mortal...that indeed all life in our genera is mortal and always has been....is a direct refutation of the claim that we are mortality inducing hybrid serpentmen. Again, if the interpretation is correct, Huggy's religion is simply not.
