But among the 64% of American voters who earn more than $50,000 a year, 49% chose Trump, and 47% Clinton.
So it was the high earners rooting for Trump. Usually it's the lowest segment, being afraid for their jobs, voting for rightwing populists.
You're calling people who make $50,000 high-earners?

Simple people wanting simple solutions to complex problems fell for the bullshit of a con artist.

The USA is not a democracy. It is a constitutional republic. It was designed to avoid the concentration of power in a centralized body or dense pockets of influence.
It's not even a republic anymore. It's an oligarchy.

It's the bp of the US median household income Neo. Anyone making more than that is making more than most. We're the high earners, in a low earning country.

I can remember last year watching Trump's announcement speech and hearing him go on a racist rant, and thinking "Wow. This motherfucker's announced his campaign for presidency and managed to torpedo it before he even left the podium." And then he won the Republican nomination, and now he's won the presidency. And he only got worse, exhibiting rampant racism, sexism, and even political scientists compared him to Hitler and Mussolini and managed to do so with astonishingly little hyperbole. And we, as a nation, embraced it, and we took fascism further than it had ever gone in America since Fritz Kuhn spoke at Madison Square Garden in 1939. And it's not because of any sort of bigger message from his campaign, because, in the sixteen months since he started, he hasn't come up with anything in the way of a bigger message, besides "make America great," but given that virtually everything he put forward as a means to that end was transparently horrible, there's virtually nothing to recommend him. So we elected him President.
At this point, it's safe to say: We're all nihilists now.

Sorry, missed this one. Record turnout in key battlegrounds, in fact...just not in the counties Clinton needed to win.

Many did not like Obama so a vote for Hillary would mean four more years of what we had, for some that is too much to bear. Maybe trade had something to do with it. Maybe another candidate might have been better, there are a ton of reasons. There is also what I call the Manilow effect. You know some songs by Barry Manilow, you liked but were embarrassed to admit it so when pollsters asked who people would vote for they did not admit they would vote for Trump, IMO.
Like it or not we have four years of Trump, who knows maybe he will do a good job. I am not happy with the way he will shape the Supreme court. Having Pence as veep is scary. Chris Christie. Guiliani, Ugh!

Because no one is going to vote for someone who supported NAFTA that took jobs out of the U.S.

You're familar with the term "more than"? Cause that's what it says. Apart from 50.000 already meaning they're making approximately 4.000 a month. You think that the average truck driver or field hand or office clerk gets that kind of money?

I have very little sympathy for those few plaintiffs who thought attending a few seminars would make them instantly rich.
Besides Trump was just being smart in stripping them of their savings. They should thank him really.
