RE: Do religions represent God?

Yes religions represent the god of that religion as portrayed by that religion, and we only have that much to work with as the only claims about god comes from religions.
Think of it like this LR, if I walk up to you and tell you stories about how smart my daughter is, to you, those stories would represent her unless you meet her yourself. But what if my daughter is different than the stories, or what if I just made it all up? The only information you have to work with is what I give you, and thus your mental image, be it right or wrong is bound by it.
So far we've had no indication of any god's existence outside the claims of various religions, so why should I take your assertion about god's nature outside of religion when there's no proof of god's existence in the first place?

My Yoga Master - Sri Bugaboo Shrewd Raisin says:
" After attaining enlightenment the wise sage will spend hours of each day arguing with atheists online. This is the true path. A life of charity and self sacrifice is so cliche' "
God thinks it's fun to confuse primates. Larsen's God!

Well, I am the official forum prophet, Rik. Your confirming that I was right is only a formality.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Now there's a sage who knows his onions.

This is awesome. You don't even realize that you just parodied your own point of view. That's hysterical.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

A parody within a parody is double parody and double fun at your expenses Ton.
You never thought of that Ton, did you?

Wrong again Mag.
NDEs are clear evidence that God exist.
If you however disregard this evidence and keep alive your fantasy that God does not exist then you have a problem.
Nothing to do with me.

An NDE would be evidence for god if all other contending ideas/explanations could be ruled out and that would be the only explanation remaining, so far that isn't the case. So claiming it as a clear evidence of god is quite dishonest.

So... you parodied yourself on purpose so that you could claim that you tricked me into a "double parody"? This is suspiciously like the way you rationalize your crazy beliefs. Are you from the Inspector Clouseau school of rationalizations? You know-- the one where you make a mistake and claim that you did exactly what you intended to do, no matter how idiotic it makes you look?
PS- your "you never thought of that line" is even more deliciously ironic in this context.

No mistakes Ton.
I can twist the parodies around and around until your head can't cope anymore and if you try to understand is even worse.
Obviously this can only be done to those that live in a world of fantasies.

Your logic doesn't make any sense.
