Nah Cj thats a very interesting god concept, one that I've never heard of before. I shall term it 'post-creation emergent deism', or has a term already been coined?
People's beliefs fascinate me, I for one would like to read more... (Man I would love a belief (And lack of belief (before my fellow atheists maul me)) museum/zoo) "And this folks is a creationist, notice how he is impervious to logic and reason" "oooooh". "This here is an atheist, note the lack of horns, the ethical behaviour dispite a lack of religious beliefs and the amazing abs" "aaaaaah" (June 24, 2011 at 2:29 am)theVOID Wrote: Why would a deity want/need to create a universe at all? Same reason we create. Because it's what we do.
Atheist Forums Hall of Shame:
"The trinity can be equated to having your cake and eating it too." ... -Lucent, trying to defend the Trinity concept "(Yahweh's) actions are good because (Yahweh) is the ultimate standard of goodness. That’s not begging the question" ... -Statler Waldorf, Christian apologist RE: Deism! (and pantheism and Pandeism, and polypanendeism...)

Keep in mind Void that you have to take the Xtian characteristics of perfection and omnipotence out of the equation as well. None of it really matters to me though. As soon as someone makes a claim that they KNOW why God would do something or that they even know who he is, automatically gets stamped with a disregard policy from me. Theorizing is fine. I do it often, but making claims of truth is unacceptable to me. Any answer I have for someone is going to be my own conjecture with an attached disclaimer that reminds them that I simply do not know. I speak only for myself, not deists, when I say: In my opinion, belief in God IS illogical ........... doesn't change the fact that I choose to do so. Foolish? Perhaps. Paradox? Definitely. Hypocritical? Slightly. Satisfying? Completely. (June 24, 2011 at 2:29 am)theVOID Wrote: Why would a deity want/need to create a universe at all? I would firstly propose to take 'deity' or 'God' out of the equation altogether; supposing ours to be a possibly created Universe, all we can know about its Creator is that it possessed whatever power, intellect, and rationality were required to set forth a Universe of precisely the attributes we see before us, no less (obviously) and more importantly no more than that. So the question really is, what might motivate an entity with the ability to create a Universe to exercise this ability? RE: Deism! (and pantheism and Pandeism, and polypanendeism...)
