RE: My change to Atheism from Christianity (I'm 14)
I'm sorry. I meant "weak-minded" not as in dumb, but as in they can't think for themselves or make there own living.

Hmmm, I can't make my own living. Disability does that.

I'm sorry, but i said that I was weak-minded. At the time I wasn't very sure of myself. I didn't WANT to figure things out. Therefore, I wanted "god" to do things for me, in places where I could have done them myself.

Well, some religions are better than others at making a person feel as though they are/were weak-minded. And the idea that you could arrive at an independent decision on religion clearly shows you are not, nor were. (You had to absorb what your former faith was teaching/inculcating before you could decide it was lacking.)

There were many foreshadowing occurances that led to me ultimately seeing the truth. Many believe I am quiet too young to make this decision. Many believe I'm doing it just to "be different" or "to beg attention". But there arbitrary fallacies are sickening. I will only give a FEW of the things that lead me to the state that I'm in today. Since birth, I had been a run-of-the-mill Christian who often tried to use "god" as a crutch to compensate for my weak-minded nature. I often prayed (begging would be a more appropriate term) whenever I was in need. It may have been programmed in me from the beginning, but just the thought of an "all-seeing" "all-hearing" being always raised great skepticism. Then one day, call it my "judgement day" if you will, I just sat in my bed and pondered. It was a moderately difficult process to logically destroy the foundations that the church had built under me as a young child. I don't want to make this too long due to the fact that I doubt many will read this. I want to end this by putting forward one of my logical arguments to the non-existence of "god". If there where such a being as god, with all the power he supposedly possesses: why would he create an entire race (a very violent and spiteful race) not only to bask in their glory, but also to pass judgement. Thank you, this is an amazing forum.

I'm 14 too but I never got accused of being atheist just to be different. Usually being atheist where i live is frowned upon for being the "devil himself!". Take off since birth because when you are born you are not represented any information about god, so you wouldn't believe in one; but thats obviously not what you are stating.

It is strange that people believe that God created us just to pass judgement on us, but my biggest problem has always been the fact that God even cares what I think in the first place.

One cannot have any religious faith -since birth-, since at birth you have no knowledge of religion. Unless you adopt it after you are old enough to think clearly about such things, it is -inculcated- (that is, taught by rote learning).

If you think people get uppity at your telling them you're an atheist, try telling them your a Wiccan. Or a Muslim.

Lol the first time you told your neighbor you were a wiccan he turned to you and tried to choke you, then they picketed your house. That's how you strip them of their individuality, make them know you're not wanted here.

Actually the house-picketing occurred in Virginia Beach in 1984, and the choking in Nebraska a few months ago.

Ran into that fellow today in the General Store here. I have been actively avoiding him, but that is hard to do in a town of 142. He told the owner as I entered "they shouldn't serve my kind here." The owner told him I pay my bills, unlike some around here, and my money is good. Fellow glared at me as he stalked out of the store, but didn't say anything to me.

I don't know why but the staring part while walking out of the store sounded funny. Did you press charges or just avoid the whole thing? The whole incident was i believe from an earlier post you responded too about how you showed the guy they built a religious place somewhere near pearl harbor. But i can't really remember where i seen that post. It amazes me why people would act that way, either a low level of intellect or just being ignorant.
What was it that some people say about Wicca. "you finally came out of the broom closet?"
Also i think choking someone if they don't believe in god came out of the bible, i seen it when i was reading "born atheist".
