At some point, a person whose speech is inciting violence should be held accountable for that speech. At what point does a person who does something like screaming racial epithets in a black neighborhood become responsible for doing so? For another extreme, if someone came to a crowd of children and started talking about raping them, would it be out of bounds for a parent to attack that person rather than call the police and wait for them to show up? I mean they can remove their own child, but what about all of the other children there?
Does that person deserve to be attacked? I think there is an argument there. And not just an "I want to make him hurt" retributive thing.
Now does this in any way apply to Milo? No. This is just some extreme example. For the most part, if you constantly spew the hatred that Milo does, you should expect and prepare for violence, but you don't deserve it. I do think he pushes the envelope specifically to piss people off enough so that he can use the outbursts to advance his agenda. That adds an extra layer of sliminess to it.
Some one finally gets it (gold star) thou I will admit I got emotional in some of my language Milo has that effect on me
Thou I will disagree in Milo case but we disagree on that
I am disagreeing with you, numbnuts.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

So lets say someone assaults Milo on his way back to his hotel after another of his shitty, scummy speeches.
According to you, Milo had it coming, that he should've kept his mouth shut, and the one who assaulted him should not be arrested?

And he also bears sole responsibility for the consequences of those words and intentions . Should there be protection ? yes . Would I protect them? yes .Are they entitled to anyone's protection? no. should they be allowed to speak ? yes. are they entitled to a soap box ? no
Bolded mine. That's the part that's got a bug in my bonnet about this. The whole 'he should've kept his mouth shut if he didn't want to get assaulted, and the ones who assaulted him should go free.'
Depends on what you mean by free
Don't get me wrong id kick the shit out of them if the attacked Milo. He's an asshole and he brought on himself but i'm far to against bullies(ironically like Milo) to stand for such a thing. But entitled to police protection for reckless abuse of speech not on my dollar he can hire body guards to protect his ass.

To paraphrase someone, I don't accept his idiotic speech, but I defend his right to say it.

Yup he does all he can to upset people with his bigoted BS if he gets punched in the face he asked for it . And no they should not be arrested . They should have there ass kicked (in my opinion) but arrested no. and certainly not on my Dime

Indeed he should be allowed to say it (thou has no right to a venue) personally I would stand up for him even if he did provoke it. But as I said he is not entitled to protection from his own recklessness.

I followed various livestreams of this riot and it was clearly anarchists who were causing trouble, not the liberal students like some sources are trying to make out.
The scumbags beat an innocent man unconscious, a lot of viewers were worried that they may have actually killed him and also attacked a cameraman for filming the destruction they caused.
Let's just hope those in attendance at the next Milo event are well armed and ready to deal with any rioters -- now that would make for an entertaining stream.

Oh no denial those people are abhorrent downright horrible
First i like to admit i was wrong upon deep reflection on the matter to accept my position would essentally be victim blamming. (as abhorant the victim is) This is un acceptable there fore i renounce my former position on the matter. It's a bitter pill to swallow but i must again admit FatandFaithless was right . And my beating was justfied. And this was ractionary position based on emotion not reason .
I,m Sorry

Yeah, because being all of those things means you can't be a fascist or a racist.
You know who else was really into interracial sex? Slaveholders.
