This is incredible. I never expected such a huge response. Milo Yiannopoulos a gay conservative that previously got banned from Twitter now recieved a book deal and is apparently killing it. He will most likely carry his book to the #1 spot on Amazon.
He is a strong advocate against PC Culture and anti feminist. The man got banned from Twitter for allegedly harassing Leslie Jones. He is currently trending #1 on Twitter and Facebook.

He's also a massive asshole, coincidentally. One can be against overly-PC culture without resulting to being a gargantuan cunt.

But it's his outspoken nature and willingness to say outrageous things that makes him so popular. It's what I think of as the "Howard Stern effect." Someone who is willing to say things that most people refrain from (out of a sense of decorum, or decency, or simply not being a raging dickhead) are often very popular for that reason. Especially if they don't back down when they're challenged.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

It's almost as if he's determined to cloak any legitimate point he may have in as much vulgarity and vitriol as possible, and then he'll act superior when people don't like it and point to it as "PC run amok."

I think the approach only works if you have at least some facts and some reasonable points to make, but it's more important to have the confidence to stay on the attack when you don't. Most people won't stay toe-to-toe with an aggressive debater for long because when they are stumped they feel the pressure to admit it, while the aggressive person will find some way to stay on the attack, even if it's by shifting the discussion or using whatever dishonest tactic is needed to keep the momentum on their side. The vulgarity and vitriol are tools --or perhaps more adequately, weapons-- that he can use to throw an opponent off.

Why is that surprising? Anyone, who achieves any level of notoriety, gets a book deal nowadays. Every reality TV star, a super-model, a sports personality, a singer, or whoever - even if they can't string a sentence together - has a book out. As well as a clothing line, a perfume and variety of other ridiculous merchandise.
In the times of Kindle and Amazon, publishing a book is not particularly difficult, or expensive - it's just one of the standard low-risk things celebrities do, in order to cash in on their brand. Nobody cares, if those books end up in the trash next year - which they inevitably do.
And of course Milo Whats-his-c*nt-face is going to milk his 5 minutes of notoriety, now that it's become fashionable, to be an unapologetic a**hole, playing white male version of identity politics.
Lovely weather for d*cks...

Gay conservative is like "Jews for Hitler"
Let me clue you in, there is a HUGE difference between economics and social issues, a huge difference between putting up with offensive speech, and putting up with bullshit of using law to discriminate and shit on your fellow citizens.
He is perfectly entitled to vote GOP, but to me that would be as fucking stupid as Susan B Anthony voting for a party that doesn't want her to vote.
He can staple his nuts to the wall and vote for a party that hates him, but that is fucking bat shit insane to me.

Now we're even elevating internet trolls to celebrity status. Hooray for modern pop culture, where you don't have to have the slightest hint of talent or wit for everyone to know your name and listen to what you have to say. All you have to do is be a self-centered cunt, and everyone will love you for it.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell
