Stupid Romanian protesters. If the government are not allowed to be corrupt, how are they supposed to get anything done, ffs?

I'm grateful for the OP but find it a bit disconcerting to learn that there actually are other people in the world, dealing with things that aren't all about us. Go easy on such threads, Poc. My American ego can only handle so much. RE: Meanwhile, in Romania - half a million march against the government

I heard about this from someone I know so I don't know if it's exagerated.
He basically said the government has made it illegal only if they steal above the amount of 24,000 of some currency, but the person in government at the moment stole exactly that amount and therefore won't be in trouble of any sort for it. Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them. Impersonation is treason. RE: Meanwhile, in Romania - half a million march against the government

At least, that's how I see it. If the law was about a specific amount, then it should have never even been proposed. RE: Meanwhile, in Romania - half a million march against the government

It's pretty much on the radar where I live. I wouldn't expect it to make global headlines though. Sad thing about it, it's business as usual in Romania. They didn't have a single non corrupt government since 1989. Introducing a law to go lenient on corruption takes the cake though. Far as I understand it though, they rowed back on the bill in the meantime and under pressure. |
