Signatures were being permanently disabled years ago for quoting members so apparently it was already an enforceable rule, or am I missing something?

To me, it falls to personal decency to quote others in admiration. To use your sig as a point just shows ow much like EP you are. it makes you invalid to me. you have no words of your own in your sig? what kind of human are you? (not to you CL, rethorical question).

Well, at least this proves to me, some people do take time to actually read the damn signatures. For me, they get caught up in my brain's spam filter, no matter whose it is.

You can quote people accurately, in a positive note, like some members post that you agree. how would you feel if I grabbed a post of yours out of context and paraded it on my sig? Key phrase being 'out of context' in which quoting accurately is already a rule. Personally I've never quoted someone out of context in my Sig, I've quoted someone that contradicted themselves, and I've quoted someone that made a patently false statement. All sorts of ad hominem attacks are allowed, but putting someones quote in your sig is all of a sudden a bridge too far.
