With this it seems the DNC is committed to a losing strategy. It's a bad sign that they refused to put a progressive in charge, despite being on a losing streak in the midterm and presidential elections. 

It wasn't too long ago that I started actually paying attention to politics, and realized republicans aren't for me, and switched to democratic. Now I can't even call myself a democrat because of the way they've been handling things. Unity my ass. They repeatedly screw over their base, then scream for unity right afterwards. They deserve the shit they've been getting at town halls.

It was so close, too.

If they are counting on his ethnicity alone, that just isn't going to cut it.

This is just more proof of what I've said before, the left has no major voice in this country. The current parties represent the far right and the center.  Calling Democrats "Liberals" is so inaccurate.  The Democratic party is no more Liberal than the Libertarian party, currently, IMHO.

Also, I would say Democrats are center right by normal standards. They may be a little bit to the left concerning social issues, such as gay rights or transgender rights, but they're certainly right on economic issues.

I actually thought Ellison was a poor choice only because of the muslim shit.  Sure, it doesn't matter to progressives but can you just see the optics that the fascists would employ?
"An Islamic Radical is running the Democratic Party!" would be shouted from every rooftop.  They don't need that kind of distraction and they certainly don't need to hand the fascists an easy win like that.

Even so they came close.  That does not mean that you take your marbles and go home.  It means you fucking try harder.  Siege warfare requires pounding on a specific point for a long period of time until you break down the wall.  The progressives need to learn that.

Yeah, they're really not liberal. Though some on the right just use the word liberal as a smear. There was one video where a guy accused the alt right as being liberal, because he doesn't want to accept that the extreme right wing is the culmination of what republicans have been doing for decades. The alt right, with their nazi salutes, and "hail victory" are not liberals.

Nah the Democrats fucked up to bad this time they even lost their long term democratic supporters hell
the republican party is getting fucked as well. Both parties need to stop existing in their current form for our own good.
So yeah when Hillary was running with that catch phrase i'm with her i never was i never was going to be.
I already had a shaky standing on who i was going to support then it dawned on me she only panders to voters
and also the wiki leaks showing how the democratic party truly was.

I need to change my party affiliation to independent one of these days.
