Jesus Christ! I couldn't get through three seconds of that video. They basically just saw through the animal's neck while it's still alive. Did you actually post that video in defense of your practices? That's fucking sick.

Just a small nitpick, if they started from the other side..it would die faster. Spinal cord and all that jazz. I'm just not impressed with their technique.

I just posted this for others to see how it's done.
It does look a little bit cruel to the animal, but again, all sacrifices are cruel to the thing which is being sacrificed.

Yep, sympathetic magic. Torture the animal to avoid torture yourself. Maybe if it bleeds out I wont, the gods may have mercy, "The blessing may be increased"

Slaughtering and butchering animals is always a messy business. I know, I've worked in an abattoir. The less suffering the animal goes through, the better. Halal is definitely not the best way to minimise an animals suffering, and where there's a choice about how to slaughter an animal, choosing to make it suffer more than it has to is highly unethical. Then again, muslims don't have much of a reputation for modern ethics now do they?

I agree with you, that this method of slaughtering is not the best way to minimize the suffering, but that's where you can draw the line between religious ethics and secular ethics.

Rayaan, say I wanted to avoid buying 22 rounds, or I didn't want to invest in a captive bolt..I wanted to use my drywall knife to slaughter animals instead. I'm not doing this to be Halal.
Are you okay with that?
Would you be okay if I wanted to use that part of your religion to cut costs at my business?

So religion is your excuse to do something immoral? Well, that's disgusting.

It's not really about religious ethics, but more of a lack thereof.

Yeah, I'll be okay with that, because your profit is not my profit, and you're not doing this to make halal food either. That's just a way of cutting your cost at business.
