Not sure what you're having done, but I hear you -- I've never been under the knife before, but later this year should be getting a hip replacement, and it scares hell out of me.
Having an ACL reconstruction and part of the medial meniscus removed.

Sad. Figaro (my beloved cat) is acting strange. He's walking very slow (when he even walks), but mostly lays around. He doesn't do this like a normal cat does. He looks sad and tired. When he meows, it sounds more like an expression of pain. He looks fat because of his fluff, but I can feel his skinniness when I pet him. He's so skinny. Vet didn't find anything, but I know Figaro. Something isn't right. He won't even lift his head when my boys stand next to him. He usually looks up and purrs. I just took a nap with him. I can't imagine a home with no Figaro.

Yeah that's what surprised me most. When I first heard I thought it would be just the "bridge" that had fell, but it looks like the whole rock pillar it connected to went with it. The sea must have been cutting away underneath it

Hey, you know what's really cool? When you're just trundling along, and then you come across something and it makes you think a thing and then you feel like your chest is being hollowed out by sadness and you just wanna lay in the dark and do nothing.
Depression is great. My new psych can't see me soon enough. :/

That sounds terrible, Esq. Hope you feel better, or at the very least you get to see your therapist and it helps.

How old is he?
I've had cats go through that and recover well.

I absolutely hate that feeling.

Very good news.
Remember to let your body recover in its own time. Don't try to push too hard.
