One of the mass shooters from a few years ago went after women because he was one of these losers and blamed women because he couldn't get a date.  And, apparently, the girls who did date him said he was creepy.

So.... to answer my original question, people with ugly personalities don't necessarily go for other with equally ugly personalities... they also go for decent folk and, of course, they end up not getting "the time of day"... yeah... makes sense...

So... they end up forever alone... but what it they meet up with another ugly personality? Does it work out?
Or would it only take an exceptionally beautiful personality (one looking for sainthood or something) to put up with all the crap that the other person would fling their way?

I think the word we're looking for, Poca, is dysfunctional. That's the sort of relationship you usually find when you get two ugly hearts under one roof.

It's true that love can be ennobling, and impel us to better ourselves, but that there requires a person who is willing to inventory his or her flaws ruthlessly ... and that doesn't seem to be a common quality of assholes, in my experience.
