Why do you call it a "UFO" when you've already identified it in your mind? "Flying saucer" is the term you're looking for.

It's more likely the Nazis testing their newest Haunebu flying disks from their Neuschwabenland base in Antarctica, than it is space aliens.

The whole point is that I DON'T think it was a 'craft' of any sort, any more than I think the 'ape' in Skull Island is 50' tall gorilla.
