Well... I can think of one good one... Old people. Old, little, frail grandmas who ride in the front seat are at a higher risk of being injured or killed by an airbag than some one who is 135 pounds and of average height. You put a 90 pound granny in the passenger seat and that airbag will likely kill her rather than the accident that caused the deployment of said airbags.

For that reason I have a super crew truck (meaning I have a backseat) but for some that's not an option.

There are actual warnings on the visors of all vehicles with passenger side airbags, telling you that any person under a certain age, should not be riding in the front seat anyway. While I realize this is not an option in most trucks that have no extra cab room, that is precisely the reason why the option to turn off the airbag is there.
