Unfortunately there has been quite I spike of it in the Canadian Armed Forces mostly people who were deployed in Kandahar

You triggered a good point I just thought about. While the crotch brigade worries about plumbing, no matter the sex, sexual preference, or sexual identity of those who serve, far too many come home with PTSD and don't get help for it. That is something to worry about, not the bigotry of old white politicians still wishing for petticoats and women back in the kitchen.

My husband has to go to sear training within the next few months. I've heard they put you in a small cage for an entire day, beat you, strip you naked, make you go hungry, play mind games on you, etc. Not looking forward to my baby going through that.

..You can't think of any situation that you have supported a military decision by the US?  Not one?  Maybe like..in the 1940s maybe?

I understand why they do it. They have to both prepare you for war as well as test your physical and mental state. The ones who aren't fit for it will be weeded out before they are faced with the real thing.

Not sure how it's irrelevant. You said you cannot support 'the military,' which is a huge span of offices, groups, and efforts across many places and times in history. You also said 'no matter what', which is why I brought up probably the easiest example of a situation in which you would support our military. But you can't even say yes to that, apparently.

So you just don't support the US military since you've been born. But before then, you might?

That kind of "training" sounds like it is reserved for special forces or special ops. I am not going to ask you to divulge the unit. But still, that is still mostly a mind game and still controlled. You get severely injured or die in any kind of training, those instructors can lose their job and go to prison. 

He's still brave compared to me, just the yelling got to me in Air Force basic. I wish him luck and safety. I mean that sincerely outside our differences on the existence of god/s.
