RE: Anonymous Poll on political ideology

I love polls, but I don't know which box to check. I have left-leaning views when it comes to the environment and social issues, but economically I strongly support globalization and the free market.
I'd go with anarchist/libertarian but I believe the environmental and societal costs of business need to be internalized for a free market to function properly, so I'm not purely libertarian. Also marxist was in that grouping, and I don't understand what that is. Any tips on which label I should apply to myself?

Well that explains it . He gets his wind bag from Aquinas and his pretensions of intelligence from Swedenborg

Well, from what I've heard, "Moderates" seem to hold views from the left and the right, so I guess that works.

Libertarian Marxist is a term used to talk about the types of anarchism which try to incorporate marxist elements, like Anarco-Communism, Anarco-Syndicalism etc.

Baneemyite should be a choice.

Left leaning Libertarian but not Anarchist or Marxist. Basically, an extreme civil libertarian who concedes Lib's have no good strategy to protect the environment or care for the needy and the dispossessed. I would probably defer to the Social Democrats or Progressives if they were stronger on Civil Liberties. For instance, I do not support "marriage equality". I support total marriage freedom. If consenting adults can make any combination of partners work , leave them alone. If a woman wants two husbands , let her be.

Where's the choice for socialist? Oh and what's this about "libertarian marxist". The grouping of political philosophies known as Anarchist are far removed from marxism, mainly because they don't believe the nationalist state is the right means to achieve the socialist ideal, whereas marxism does.

Libertarian Marxism IS a thing, but it's kinda a wierd mix of marxism and anarchism. Like Anarco-communism.
Oh, and there's no such thing as socialist. All socialists are communists, socialism is just the lower stage of communism, or if you're reading lenin, the dictatorship of the proletariat. If you're talking about free healthcare, college etc. that's social democracy where social democrats think that capitalism isn't all that bad, but we can make it better.

Not on there, but I voted for what I thought *might* be the closest one... But maybe not
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
