Why is there no Puerto Rico thread

I feel like I am living in some bizarre alternate timeline universe where everyone in the US has gone mad. You have a humanitarian crisis of historic proportions in your own country and we get a "meh, they have debt with wall street" from the president with 5 days delay and minimal media coverage, FEMA doesn't get command to act and there's a general level of indifference in the air. What is this shit even.

Doesn't LastPoet live in Puerto Rico? (sorry if I got that wrong, can't remember where everyone lives)
If anyone on this forum lives there, I hope they've managed to survive through the devastation despite Trump's idiocy.
My boyfriend's nephew was living there, but so far there's been word from him.

He is in Portugal.
Yeah, I'm not sure why this hasn't gotten much coverage. I didn't even know things were bad until I looked it up after seeing this post....
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

There should be one, and by proxy you just started one.

Someone posted a picture on another forum of an aerial view depicting words written on the streets. Spanish words SOSing for food and water.
So sad that Trump was more focused on the footballers than helping that American island.

Ahem, because a load of football players knelt during the national anthem. Clearly the more important news here.

Because the networks are sadly focused on Trump and his dementia.
