Ask him how he fucked up the first marriage?
Then tell him you're high maintenance! Has he got what it takes!
Then have an early night at home with a tv dinner and icecream! Yum!!!!
Sure, that's always a concern. When I tried dating a few years ago, two of the men I met later admitted they were married. And since I don't date married men, that was the end of that.
Facebook and social media are fantastic for stalking research. I found the guy I'm supposed to meet on Sunday on Facebook with just his first name and town he lives in. No photos of him with women except for 1 or 2 from 2012. Also, according to the dating app, we have a mutual friend in common (I know a lot of people in my town.). So I could do some more digging if needed.
Ok - "how did you fuck up your first marriage?"
Got it, thanks.

I think you should let out a squeaker and see how he reacts.
But refrain from eating any eggs a couple of days before.

"what do you think is the most interesting thing about you?"
"what are you most proud of?"

I always found that picking a topic and discussing it gives you a better idea of what type of person they are and it makes for a much better conversation. Whenever I start getting hit with a bunch of questions, it starts to feel like a test, my answers get short, and the conversation sputters. Most annoying questions are "what kind of music do you like?" and "What do you do for fun?".

Hand the man a bottle of skin lotion. Ask : "Would you please rub this on your skin?"
If he hesitates, yell: "It rubs it on it's skin!!!"
This works best if you carry a little dog with you.
And always make sure you're dragging a hose behind you.
Hide it behind you.
If he sees it... say "Shut up. It's my hose... alright?"
When he fails to put the lotion on... threaten him with the hose. Of course. And follow the script to the T. And also turn into a bloke and wear a dress made of dead people's skin. If you can. Try not to have your cover blown by evidence given by a cannibal in a nuthouse.

But anyway, the typical first date questions I've encountered are cringe-y - "How many siblings do you have?" "What do you do in your free time?" "How long have you lived in this area?" "Where do you work?" or maybe even "Wanna fuck?"
Boring and predictable!
I'm thinking of throwing out a few more interesting questions. Like "Would you rather get a paper cut between your fingers every time you touch paper or bite your tongue every time you eat something?"
Any suggestions?
If I get any good ones, I will ask them on Sunday.

What would be the purpose of the questions - to figure out if you like him, interest him in you, both or something else altogether?

I figured maybe you're an expert on Freudian slips and you're warning me not to.

A first date for me is mostly to figure out if I'm interested enough for a 2nd date. It's hard to decide when you hear or say the same cliché questions over and over again. After awhile, everyone starts to sound the same. Having some interesting topics to talk about is a plus.
