RE: What would you do if you found out God existed

Well it's impossible for this god to be the Christian God (because any misconceptions people have has lead to a lot of pain for a lot of people, and he's waited way too long to fix it) . Also because the Christian god doesn't exist, of that I'm 99.99% certain.
In which case I'd probably just go about my business as usual, unless he tried to control the lives of people with silly rules. In which case he hasn't really cleared up any misconceptions, and I'd be working on a way to kill this god.
The whole tone of Church teaching in regard to woman is, to the last degree, contemptuous and degrading. - Elizabeth Cady Stanton

Well, your OP is full of implications. I think it's only fair that we should get to address them. It doesn't mean people are avoiding the question.

Your question is bullshit, so don't hope for anything more.

Fair enough. What all do you think I am implying?

@CL do you really think it's fair of you to make the assumption that people who don't believe in God feel no remorse for things they've done wrong?

H. L. Mencken had the best answer to the question.
Quote: Well, I tell you, if I have been wrong in my agnosticism, when I die I'll walk up to God in a manly way and say, Sir, I made an honest mistake.
H. L. Mencken
However, even that does not address the issue of whether or not such a god, with that awful track record of atrocities, is worthy of "worship."

No, it isnt fair. But I didn't make that assumption. What I meant was would you feel remorseful towards God for those things.
Sorry, I should have made that clear.

It's a standard denigration tactic of the kind, merciful Christians. Atheists are shit and have no sense of honor or mercy. Asshat Christians are the really wonderful people here, right?

Ok. I wouldn't. Can you explain to me why a person would feel remorseful towards God for a mistake they made that did god no harm? I don't get it. If I had sex with Carl's wife, why would I be sorry to God for that? I genuinely don't understand.

Yes, and so far only 2 people have given their hypothetical answer to my hypothetical question.

That's never been what it's about for me. I've never thought to myself how awful it would be for people to have to answer for the things they've done wrong. I do sometimes think how awful it would be to live for eternity with people who've done monsterous things and have been forgiven simply because they accepted Jesus into their hearts.
It's been my impression that many on this board hate the idea of a god of any sort. But perhaps I have misunderstood.
A misunderstanding? Are you sure it has never been explained to you that it's impossible to hate something you don't believe exists.
It's amazing 'science' always seems to 'find' whatever it is funded for, and never the oppsite. Drich.
