In other words, it implied to me that, as long as you have the mindset of enjoying your life, then you would be enjoying your life since your mindset would automatically create that positive experience for you. It doesn't imply that at all. Just as your analogies don't imply what you think it does. And just as your premise doesn't imply that time is more important than intensity either.
Positive experience doesn't merely require a positive mindset. Positive experiences are only positive when something positive is experienced. Having the mindset that something you are experiencing is positive when it's actually negative doesn't mean shit.

But wouldn't we call that positive quality an intrinsically good quality and the negative quality and intrinsically bad quality?

Yes. Which is exactly why a mindset isn't required on top of that.

I thought our positive and negative emotions were the only positive and negative quality states of mind in our lives and that how other people defined a positive or negative experience was through simply having a positive or negative mindset. From this perspective, this would mean that all those famous and genius miserable artists, providing they had no positive emotions, would only be dragging their lives on and creating works of art through nothing more than a positive mindset. That is why I first objected to this whole idea of the "miserable inspired artist" because I thought that there could be no positive quality state of mind there as long as you did not have your positive emotions.

Interestingly enough, TD's thread on another forum died easily enough. Not here, for some reason.

We squeeze lemons in shifts.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

You are so confused. You can't make your mind up what your frigging position is.

Now, I would like to ask you a question. You said that we need a state of mind that possesses a positive quality to it to truly make our lives good and beautiful and that the belief of your life being good and beautiful simply isn't enough as long as you do not possess that positive quality. Therefore, could you present me the articles/evidence that present this?
