Sports announcers when they make you laugh.

I always like to hear play caller's when they make you laugh, instead of being 100% boring stat parrots. Chris Burman is one of my favs as network sports caster, "HE COULD GO ALL THE WAY".
The Skins when I was growing up had the best radio announcers in Sonny, Sam and Frank, and when the Skins did bad, even then they would crack jokes, like on 3rd down after losing yardage, they'd say "Third and a mile".
But yesterday I was watching the Ohio State game and the announcer made a very funny analogy about their Quarterback whom had all the time in the world to pass because of the pass protection, "He had so much time he got his attorney to make the pass for him."
That made me laugh so hard, I was glad I wasn't drinking anything at the time.
What are some of the funnier comments you have heard about good or bad plays in any sport?
Sometimes when I see great pass protection in a game, I think, "Damn, QB had so much time his kids are out of college."

I had a buddy when I was young whose dad called college basketball for the local station. Once, calling a game-winning three-pointer, Greg's dad was so excited that "He shoots and hits!" came out as "He shits and hoots!" ... live on the air.
I still chuckle thinking about it.

FOX NFL Sunday does some sort of comedy skit every week, this bit included smack talk, don't know who it was was typing on my computer but overheard it, "You look like you just walked into a Super Cuts and said, "Before we start, just so you know, I don't tip."

HA HA HA HA, never noticed before, but I am sure other stadiums and games in the NFL have used this prior, but just now in the Lions/Panthers game the Panthers committed pass interference and the stadium loud speaker played this.

Most of them suck.
I do remember an old color commentator for the NY Rangers, Bill "The Big Whistle" Chadwick, (he was a former NHL referee.) He was funny. Rangers brought up a guy named Gene Carr. Fastest skater anyone ever saw but had no shot at all. Chadwick said of him " he couldn't put the puck in the ocean if he was standing on the edge of a pier."
Another time he said a guy "handles his stick like a cow handles a gun."

That is fucking cold, funny, but cold.
Sonny Sam and Frank were not that blunt about when the Skins sucked, but the way they talked when we did bad, you could tell they had the virtual paper bags over their heads thinking, "COME ON!"
I feel about the Skins today like you'd feel like a family member letting out a big stinky fart at the Thanksgiving table, you love them, but you wish they would not embarrass you like that. FACE PALM!
The other analogy I've made about how long we have sucked since Danny bought the team and draft season after draft season we are spotty at best I say, "The Skins are like owning a Lamborghini with a oil leak and flat tire, they look great, but you cant do shit with them."
The Redskins are like that auto mechanic whom forgets there are 6 cylinders and you cant use a doughnut spare either if you expect to make it deep into the playoffs.
Skins, "WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN I'D DIDN'T CHECK THE OIL? Ok, you are fucking picky, I know the manual says 10w-40 but I am going to use SW-30.

I remember a Monday night football game where the quarterback through the ball on a rope - right into the hands of a defender. The announcer said, "He intercepted that pass in self-defense!"
It was hilarious because it was true. The defender would have been hit by the ball if he hadn't caught it. It was thrown right at him.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

On a slightly more serious note, one thing I LOVED that Sonny, Sam and Frank did was when they announced they gave you a mental image of which direction they were viewing as far as offence. I have never seen that in any other announcers EVER.
They would say, "Skins are working on offence left to right on your radio dial", or "Right to left". That way even if you could not watch the game, you had a mental image.

Not quite sports announcers, but the World Herald sports writers and their autopsy of the 2017 Nebraska football season is good reading for those of us never particularly enamored of the Nebraska football program.
Apparently the 'only' thing left in the trophy cabinet is the home stadiums unbroken string of ticket sell outs. Probably should be worried about that, BTW, pregame ticket prices were ~ and < 50% of face value. Couldn't have imagined it ever being this bad in the Big Red World.
Dirk Chatelain's commentary begins with:
Somebody make it stop.
Kinda sums up the lament of the fans.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
