I've never heard it called that before.

It was good for his self-image.  Big Grin

Ice bag sounds nice though.

{tee hee}

Man oh man, they itch like hell too!!

Is there a palliative for this, or should I just tough it out as I assume women do after the delivery of their bebbees ??

They're rather unsightly too . . .

Coco butter
Shea butter
Stretch mark cream (yes they sell it in the feminine needs section of the store)

Try topical lidocaine or an antibiotic ointment.

Don't feed any bugs around the incision.

Solarcaine has a burn treatment that includes aloe and lidocaine. Works a treat.

I third the lidocaine/aloe treatment.
Glad it all went well! Heal quickly. Smile

RE: Vor is up for a cholecystectomy
LOL, some of the itch is hair growing back and it looks like some side effects of gall bladder trouble might subtly increase itchiness too.

And did get a quote for health insurance next year.

All but $20,000 annual premium.

Sheesh. Yeah, a little easier to take, I suppose, knowing my gall bladder issue is going to run past a 12/31/2017. And it is a bump up in coverage level from BCBS which doesn't offer a plan with that (lower) level of copays, deductibles and exclusions.

But good golly Molly, I can swing that premium, but how the holy fuck can most other folks swing an expense like that ??

And how can I in the future?

Let's say 2019 is $28,000, 2020 is $40,000, 2021 is $55,000 (same rate of increase I've had since start of ACA) how the fuck is that going to work ?? Am I looking at selling some farm land as I come up on Medicare eligibility? Shit, don't want to do that. Income from my farm supports others besides me. The rest are grandfathered in pre-ACA BCBS policies, but not me. Is it fair to eff them so I can keep coverage?? (not even sure I could with partnership arrangement, BTW)

Do I find myself rooting for the economy heating up enough and grain/commodity prices rise fast enough to grow farm my income to keep me covered ??

Shit, feeling punk from gall bladder as it is, now I get to fret over this indefinitely.

I'm pissed at BCBS, but I'll admit mixed feelings for Medica. Yeah, good for them stepping in to ACA crater, but damn, making the numbers work. Ouch.

And yes, don't know if I mentioned ordering a new Ranger, but I canceled it recently. Can't justify expense with so many unknowns. And hell, it ain't unknown, past is prologue, I'd be a twit not to assume lines on the graph are going to change their angle now.

BTW, no incision pain today, unless I cough. Gall bladder is lit up, but no surprise there. Going in tomorrow for another round of blood work.

Also, hope dietician can work me in, having trouble with meal prep. Found in post op instructions some more diet restrictions. Hard enough as it was.

Poo !!

Also, with (hopefully) soon gall bladder procedure, I can't take aspirin. Argh !!

Your vorlon LOVES aspirin. Little white pill of the Gods it is. Unfortunately, it's an efficient anti-coagulant too.

Is the dietician male? (work me in?)

How's that going to help with meal prep?

I have dietary restrictions and a limited 'palette' of stuff I cook. I am watching labels for fat content, but that just leads to me deleting items I can no longer eat.

Dietician can make suggestions for things that I could not only add to menu, but would be GOOD to add to menu. And then maybe I'm not even looking at stuff at the store I might like and could eat because I have mistaken ideas about fat content and/or some other restrictive items.

Goddamit . .

was looking into insurance info last night and fucked up. A total noob mistake.

Googled "medica" and clicked on first one on list. (The actual "medica" site was like 5 down on the list)

I entered contact info and then realized I wasn't on "medica" and x'd out. Well, have already received a phone call this AM and have 2 emails too.

Fuck. I bet I'm on the mother of all fucking scammy health insurance lists now.

God fucking dammit.

We always go thru the ACA/healthcare.gov website.
