Atheists don't realize asking for evidence of God is a strawman
RE: Atheists don't realize asking for evidence of God is a strawman
Ya gotcha'd yourself.  Is that what a gotcha is for?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Be more specific. Which part do you disagree with?

Quote:The worldwide accepted position is that the Bible is a religious work. When scientific evidence is asked for God Bible is misrepresented as a scientific work so that it can be subject to scientific scrutiny to make it easier to refute it.

Like I already said, I'm not actually going to use this argument. It's just a "gotcha"(to use against other rude people that always use "gotcha" arguments) and to see if it can be countered.

It's not even an argument.  It makes no sense, it's a steaming pile of illogical shit.

LOLnope....and this has already been addressed by more than one poster, more than once.

As I said...you were wrong at the start, you'll still be wrong the next time you say it. You;ll be wrong the 100th or 1000th time you say it.

-and every time, it will be for the same reason, which was explained to you the first time.

Being a 'religious work' doesn't exempt it from providing evidence for its claims. If your book makes an assertion about something that happened in history or exists in reality, then you need to provide evidence for that claim, or you're being unreasonable in believing it. If you can't understand that, then you can't understand anything.

This is the last group of braincells I'll waste on this troll shitpile of a thread.

Again with your trolling. I was having that conversation with FAF, I know "shifting the burden of proof" is a fallacy. Obviously you removed all context and just fixated on just that. Look, what I meant was instead of me giving evidence for a God, I asked them to give evidence for why Bible is a scientific text, that's the context in which I said "shifting the burden of proof",not literally shifting the burden of proof.

It would be silly for you to believe that atheists think or even desire to represent magic book as a scientific text, and clearly this is not what they believe it to be or what they're asking you for if they ask you for any scientific evidence that the claims of your -religious- text are true.

Does your -religious- text make claims subject to the scientific method? Yes, yes it does.

Do your -religious- claims rest on the truth of those claims to which science can be applied? Yes, yes they do.

She's not trolling. How about you leave the moderating to the moderators, eh?

In addition nobody has made that claim. That's your strawman.

This is true. Make a small change and it becomes false:

Quote:Being a 'religious work' doesn't exempt it from providing scientific evidence for its claims.

Because guess what either a work has to be a scientific work or it has to claim that it is a scientific work and it can withstand scientific scrutiny in order to subject it to scientific scrutiny.

Quote:If your book makes an assertion about something that happened in history or exists in reality, then you need to provide evidence for that claim, or you're being unreasonable in believing it.

..and I asked you to look up Biblical archeology..
