RE: Why does science always upstage God?

You Athiests are hilarious, I've been on these forums for five years defending every aspect of my belief, because you consider it irrational to believe in something without any evidence, yet when it's pointed out that you do the exact same thing it's all of the sudden a game of "gotcha"?
Nay, it's call pointing out the hypocrisy / double standard you hold when subjected to your OWN line of reasoning.
One question about abiogenesis and you guys collapse like a house of cards.
Stick to atheism because it's clear none of you can cut it as a thiest

Why would we *want* to become theists, you insufferable dumbass? Judging from your contributions to this forum it hasn't done jack shit for you.

Why do you believe abiogenesis is a problem for atheists?

Just one more sign of your lazy, sloppy thinking that you lump all atheists together. All we have in common is that we do not support your weird belief. Many of us do not consider it irrational to believe in something without evidence. However I am incredulous that you choose to believe in supernatural things

If you believe that then you'll believe whatever you like. Oh wait, we already knew that.

Sticking to atheism is simply continuing to disbelieve in your fanciful secret friend. Your failure to understand that after all the time you've spent here shows that you are impervious to the evidence of your senses. But why would you need your senses when you have already committed yourself to see only that which conforms to your preformed belief? That is why you are taken in by every two-bit youtube video, no matter how poorly made or how farfetched the notion they are supposed to support.

Keep in mind, Huggy thinks this kind of shit is real:
His grasp of reality (including his understanding of science) may not be as strong as he'd like to think.

That's why I'm not comfortable replying back.
He, like the others, is the victim here.
Playing their game is just encouraging them...
Haven't you guys seen A beautiful Mind?
OK, maybe a bad example but you know what I mean...

So which is it?

Not sure of what point you're trying to make.
It can be, and may well be, both. The universe (the space-time continuum of which we are a part) is in the neighborhood of 14 or 15 billion years old. Before Planck time, the math and physics break down and we don't know what was going on. The universe in the larger sense may be have existed forever in some sense; but our cosmos dates from the initial expansion. What preceded the expansion may have been a microscopic point that existed forever but never expanded before, a cyclic universe that expands and contracts, or one that manages to both keep expanding and 'keep banging', or a multiverse that births universes, of which ours is one. For all reasonable intents and purposes though, our universe started 14 or 15 billion years ago.

NEWS FLASH: ABIOGENESIS IS A BELIEF ALSO! Apparently we can't be "arsed" to challenge any of YOUR beliefs ...
Also since when has an 'explanation' become evidence?
The 'hows' of abiogenesis are hypotheses. The fact of abiogenesis is that it is impossible for biological life to have always existed. Even God breathing life into dust is technically abiogenesis, unless you're saying God is alive in the biological sense, made of molecules, having a metabolism, and all that....

Good point. Or perhaps God is/was an alchemist capable of pulling off what no scientist so far has been able to replicate, the creation of the organic out of the inorganic. Maybe He used exactly the ingredients everyone supposes but just has preternatural knack for chemistry. Once He got that to go, he could have made us from an early chimp relative over millions of years preordained evolution.
Hey, I'm handing this to you Huggy. It beats that sorry old everything from nothing line you keep pushing.

I consider abiogenisis plausible, but god is implausible, impossible, improbable, unrealistic, unconvincing, ............ How many more negatives would you like?
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.
